Via footpath to the west, twisting my through the jungle before joining the sunny track through a variety of ancient trees. | Wycombe Wanderer | 06/07/2024 |
Selling - The Mount - Beech Pollard - Chartham Downs - Canterbury. | Mark Jackson | 04/06/2022 |
Parking by track (TR 06159 56587) or by the railway bridge if there is no room. Easy paths except for the last 10 metres where I thrashed around in brambles trying out several likely candidates. | DC11main | 13/06/2021 |
Parked at start of ROW to WSW. Tracks and path to highpoint and alternative. A few brambles for the last 10m or so to each point. | PGCE | 26/02/2021 |
From Upper Ensign, followed path to summit area, but high point unclear | rfoster | 21/02/2021 |
Parked just north of railway. Up FP and then track. HP just off track to west. | PeterD | 24/10/2020 |
Parked in substantial pull in just north of railway bridge. Along good track to indeterminate top. Evidently there are wild ponies inhabiting the wood. | Campbell Singer | 17/10/2020 |
Footpath from Upper Ensign visiting potential high points at TR06735,56657 and TR06837,57055. No idea which is the higher though felt slightly more ascent to the second. | RichardM | 20/01/2020 |
Just driven down from Manchester to complete last 12 Tumps in Kent plus. Parked 100 yards North of Railway at entrance to good track. | GordonAdshead | 30/08/2019 |
From the E on RoW and access paths after parking NE side railway bridge. HP seemed a little further N than the OS spot height. 3m or so W side of track. All fairly flat though. | jonglew | 11/11/2018 |
From N side of rly bridge at TR 0605 5650, good space to park on rough ground. Wore my jogging pants after reading about brambles etc but by walking N up road then first ROW on R there were no botanical hazards to justify such excessive clothing on a sticky 30 degC day. Good protection from the horseflies though. Some merit apart from HP bagging as part of the tracks that give greater walks in the Blean Woods around Canterbury. | pwheeler | 05/07/2018 |
Parked to west at 06045 56525 on rough ground and made my way along easy to follow tracks. | clivevilla | 27/04/2018 |
Selling to Chilham. | Smudge | 24/10/2015 |
Painful. Brambles and nettles on overgrown paths not quite bad enough to stop me forcing a passage- shorts a bad idea, but once I had started... tree covered flattish top. circular walk. | Chris Pearson | 05/06/2015 |
Several contenders in very large contour: E side of track at bend TR 06839 57044 most likely? From SW, followed main forest track then back past sawmill and along road. | RHW | 21/02/2015 |
