Started in NT car park (£5 for the day if you use the paybyphone app) took the kids up for their first summit. Easy to follow paths, perfect starter hill for little ones with brilliant views to give them inspirationlboutside27/05/2024
Parked in front of gate at SO 32691 16305. Don't recommend as you have to walk up the road past the car park anyway. Took only about 30 mins to the top walking fast. Great views from the ridge. Very busy for a Tuesday, I expect because the schools are out. May try from the N next time to avoid the crowds.Droplet749402/04/2024
In the snow. Beautiful morning. With Delilahsimonjallen02/02/2024
From NT car park (cash: £2/2 hours or £4 longer) with Shaky on a clear day. Paths only slightly muddy & the walk along the top ridge was cracking. Shaky spotted the Welsh phrase cut into the bracken on side of Bryn Arw across the valley. Summit is a good viewpoint. Back same way & then on to Allt yr Esgair.NotReallyABagger30/01/2024
As others, parked at the NT car park (members free) to the S and took the path up and along the ridge to the top. Cloudy with a cold wind on the ridge and some views W towards the Black Mountains. With Gillian.richard6904/11/2023
Ascent from the NT car park in poor weather (Storm Babet) hence no view from the summit. Returned via low level path through woods to the west of the ridgeCumbriancyclist19/10/2023

Myself, my sons Eoin and Tiarnán, started on the southern face at the National Trust carpark (as others have suggested). Steady chug up the main trail, good views at each rest stop. Summit gives beautiful views across southern Wales. Descent down northeast face, very steep, not advisable. Then round western flank, heard cuckoo calling and smelt hawthorn. Return to carpark for food and rest.Pete West28/05/2023
From NT car park (£4 cash required). Lovely walk returning via path through woods around western flank of hill after steep descent to north from the summit. With D and S.webmaster27/05/2023

Parked in NT car park at GR329164 and followed the well made path up through the wood and out onto the grassy ridge to the summit. Good views all round but a very chilly wind gusting to 35mph. With SH.wombourne13/01/2023

Verge parking at SO346168. Up public road to SO342178, then PFs to The Arwallt, then steeeply up to top. Sign at NT Pay and Display CP says the CP money is spent on maintaining 'The Skirrid', but I saw only broken stiles and broken or missing waymarkers.Isbjorn15/04/2021

Dropped off by the rest of our party at the car park; funnily enough no takers for the walk to the top - it was raining! The rain soon cleared and the views from the top were excellent as a result. Easy navigation, quite a few people on the hill - up and down in an easy 1hr 30 mins; well worth the effort.JOHNS10/10/2020
From the NT car park. Nice ridge. Found some specs on the summit and managed to find their owner on the way back down.summitter22/09/2020

I have completed before but couldn't find my ascent date so returned with family for an evening walk. Took the usual route from the National Trust car park. Enjoyable outing & loved listening to the Ravens and watching their aerial acrobatics. Clouds started to envelop us on the way down...very atmospheric!Gerry the Ranger16/08/2020
Normal route up from national trust car park to the south. Then doubled back slightly and came anti-clockwise around the hill on the contouring path. Glorious sunny day with fine views to Penyfan, Severn Estuary and Black MountainsClive G03/08/2020
