Buckden car park, outwards hubberholme, then r to start ascent to trig. From trig down towards old lead mine, traversing the fell to pick up path back to buckden.Lancylass20/07/2023
Great Whernside and Buckden Pike from Kettlewell. Up by Hag Dyke to the trig at the top of Great Whernside, then north along the ridge, turning left along the Bridleway from Scar House and following it to the Coverdale / Kettlewell road at the top of the pass. Straight across and up the track by the fence to the ridge wall and then in a short distance to Tor Mere Top. Turned NW and followed the often boggy track by the wall to the Polish War Memorial and along the flagstones to Buckden Pike's trig and summit cairn. Down the track to Buckden and back along the Dales Way to Kettlewell. 27km with 800m ascent, taking me 7 hours.silverwolf_alan07/05/2023

Good to revist after all these years, and by a better route, via Brown Haw and Naughtberry. With B and Rjenx19/01/2023
Parked in the NP car park at Buckden, ascended Buckden Pike via the permissive path heading NE, traversing the fell to join the bridleway from Starbotton, then up to the Polish memorial and along the summit ridge in mist to the trig. From the summit headed north along the very wet and boggy ridge to Naughtberry Hill, and uncertain HP. Having had enough of the ridge bog, I then followed a splendid quad bike track along the top of the scar above Bishopdale back to the Buckden Pike track and down to Buckden. 17km with nearly 600m ascent in 5 hours.silverwolf_alan12/11/2022

Climbed this (aged 11) on a soaking wet October Saturday after completing a 5k run in Bradford. It poured down all through the walk and the climb up from Buckden along the river was mainly under water. Let me into the pub at Starbotton even though children weren't allowed as they took pity on me in the rain.Mollyb30/10/2020

Walked up from Buckden Village via Rakes Wood (on a very wet and windy morning).RobB11/03/2020
With Shaky & Smithy from the cattle grid at 503m on a misty, murky New Year's Day afternoon walk. Did anyone mention that this route is a bog fest?! Followed the path leading over the stile & then to a gate & then handrailed the wall/fence over Tor Mere Top to the memorial. Crossed over the wall to use the flagstoned path to the summit. Returned the same way but this time found occasional vehicle tracks anywhere between 10 & 30m from the wall which made for still soggy but much easier going.NotReallyABagger01/01/2020
Walked with Gemma, Charlie and Ted. It was a lovely morning with hardly a cloud in sight. After approx 40 min on the hill the weather turned to strong wind and fog. Got to within 50m of the summit but had to turn around due to having 8 month old Charlie with me! Better luck next time!zaul_uk30/12/2019
