| A walk with Alma Aurea up Fan Brycheiniog. We might have done a longer route but the good weather forecast kept changing and in the end we started late (and nearly didn't go at all). We walked up the valley to Llyn y Fan Fawr with the cloud just about clearing off in front of us, some showers and wind. It cleared off the main summit just in time so we continued up and finally the sun came out, but only late afternoon! So we visited Fan Foel and then Fan Hir on a ridge descent, but Bannau Sir Gaer - Picws Du will have to wait for another day. Beautiful once it cleared. /D | meltdiceburg | 22/10/2023 |

| From road at 856223 followed marked track. Too many tracks. Kept north of marked route, maintaining height. Llyn y Fan Fawr tarn made the day with it's lofty companion for a backdrop.
