After The Storr, up along path to summit. Hazy views over the ridge and south to the Cuillin and the Red Hills. Had the place to myself. | the pigguy | 12/06/2024 |
Parked up road to avoid paying, partly because I was not sure I would be able to get a bus back the same day and no provision for parking more than 12 hours. Up tourist path calling at The Storr east top on way past, not difficult; on to The Storr , Hartaval, Baca Ruadh, Creag a Lain, Beinn Edra, visited Quirang and down to main road to get the bus back. A god day, would have been a great one if I had not been in cloud until mid afternoon! | dickscroop | 19/05/2024 |

The Storr and Hartaval from tourist car park. | rhalstead | 14/06/2023 |
Tourist track from the Old Man CP. Very misty start so contoured over to Hartaval initially before taking on The Storr. Thankfully the mist burned off and sunshine gave us a visible summit and easy clamber over to the E Top. Decided to head southwards, bagging The Storr South Top en route to Ben Dearg, A' Chorra-bheinn and Pein a' Chleibh. A great walk in perfect conditions only spoiled by the trudge back up the A855 dodging fast cars, wide motorhomes and dirty haulage trucks. Hey Ho, the lot of a bagger. 6.5 hrs total. | summitter | 30/05/2023 |

Via Old Man of Storr | PaulineD | 15/05/2022 |
Round of Hartaval and Ben Dearg. Forget the parking metres and Storr tourist path, park due SE of the Bealach Beag, which can be ascended on a boot path, then easily contoured around The Storr as already done. Excellent visibility in all directions, black and red Cuillin all impressive, St Kilda visible behind North Uist. | Topographer57 | 01/08/2021 |
Fairly straightforward walk up from the Storr carpark. Lovely place to enjoy the views away from the hustle and bustle of the Storr. | Matt2901 | 14/04/2021 |
From The Storr on easy, mostly grass, slopes | KeithByTheC | 15/09/2020 |
Climbed from Old Man of Storr car park, up into Coire Scamadal then up Hartaval first, followed by The Storr, descended Bealach Beag. Dry all day with high level clouds. | chillyman8 | 05/09/2020 |
I could not face the hordes of tourists at the Storr, so climbed the hill from the W, at the road end above Keistle. Called at the house for permission to park, which was readily granted. Along the track, then on rougher deer tracks to the bealach, up rough stuff to a steep easy climb on grass to Sron Dubh then easy ground to the top. Not very easy going low down but I had the hill to myself. | Gill | 30/09/2019 |
Debs & Tali, Walk up from the car park, investigated what we could then walked the Skye trail via Hartaval & Storr back to Portree. | Mountain Goat | 24/09/2019 |
From The Storr, returned diagonally from bealach to Storr North ridge, past some Dotterel.
Only saw 4 people on Hartival as opposed to hundreds on other side of The Storr. | Flatfield | 10/05/2019 |
From Storr via col. Returned via decent path through Bealach Beag. | willyross | 24/04/2019 |

What an awesome ridge, heading as far as long ridge for 2 hours to get the Flasvein via all peaks and back as want to do northern marilyns from Quiraing car park today too. Perfect weather. Company: Solo | iandesbottes | 12/05/2018 |
Langie Skye meet. | Grinner | 06/05/2018 |
From The Storr on easy short grass. Back to the bealach then the top end of the north ridge of The Storr. Took the easy path back to the end of the NE ridge where once again I was confronted with the hordes. 3.5 hours and just over 6.5 miles for the 2 marilyns. Solo. | bolton | 06/10/2017 |
The Storr and Hartaval via local bus and Coire Scamadal | trimarc2 | 04/10/2017 |
parked overnight at The Old Man of Storr car park and in glorious weather but quite brisk wind finally made a one way traverse all the way up the Trotternish ridge. Came off it before Bioda Mor as I'd summitted it before and I wanted to get up Cleat and take a look at the two tricky other two little TuMPs off under the eastern cliffs. Great day had a sting in the tail. never got a lift and faced a gruelling 13 miles walk back which added another 5 hours till 2.25am Ouch! Deliriously tired. | vegibagger | 02/06/2017 |
On Uig- Beinn Edra- Hartaval- Kensaleyre traverse of the central part of the Trotternish ridge. From Boca Ruadh- a long way between tops for this walk, a very straightforward ascent though somewhat featureless terrain. Super viewpoint, lots of sunshine. The descent worked a treat- Sron Dubh, just below the crag at NG466537, skirting below crags on short turf, then a short beeline over moor with emerging paths leading to the excellent path shown on the OS maps at NG450527. This one really exists! I used a bus to link the start and end points but you'd get 9.5 h for the walk if you traveled from Portree and back by bus. | pwheeler | 17/06/2016 |
Car park, Old Man of Storr, The Storr, The Storr East Top, Hartaval, The Storr again and finally walked passed the Old Man to return to the car on a day of wall to wall sunshine. | Dugswell2 | 10/05/2016 |

Over a gate and up on dusty eroded path onto gravelly steps and on tussock to a 2600' bealach at 10.50. By old fence posts to neat medium sized cairn of brown rocks on short grass. 11.20. SMC special. | arranc | 13/05/2008 |
