With Dave Roeder. Parked (10:00) just off the road at the entrance to a blocked-off layby just N of Meadale bridge. There was a 'No Waiting' sign by the car when we returned. Walked up the track to the Bealach and over rough grass uphill through the crags to the summit (11:20). Sunny, good views all round. Finished 12:25.dbb16/05/2024
As the parking area on the A863 used by others is now blocked off by boulders, I parked in a pull-off 1.3km to the south at NG 39695 33834. The farmer arrived to take away some cattle and seemed content with my parking position when I asked him. He warned me about the electric fence by the gate into the field. I then entered the cattle field opposite (beware electric fence) and took a new route east to the summit up the long broad west ridge of the hill. I then descended north to the Bealach Mor and took the good track west down the glen of the Allt Meadale back to the road. A careful hike south along the main road of 1.3km brought me back to the car. 8.7km, with 360m of ascent.Man of Kernow116/05/2024
Parked to south of Meadale Bridge then up good track to Bealach Mhor meeting cheery shepherds en route. Good views of Coullins experiencing an inversion.lordtonult03/06/2023
From signed P in layby at NG396338 (which may be the last parking place not blocked by boulders and cones until N of Meadale), walked S to old recycling dump (NG399334) to avoid fences with insulators, worked around the dump on N side, under the insulated wire at a corner then uphill, N at first, turning ENE (over another fence), passed N of one obvious line of cliffs, to the summit, descended SW at first to near Allt Beul-ath nan Sachd, roughly followed that back to dump (more fences), thence start (2h35m)kdbennett02/06/2023
Bike up the good track (N of Allt Meadale)to the Bealach Mor. Easy ascent from there.PeteN03/01/2022
From Crossbreck - up Glen Bracadale to Loch Duagrich, then into forest to pick up 4x4 track to bealach. Up and back before descent to Inver Meadale. Followed old road back to car (wouldn't recommend as locals aren't too happy with you going close to their houses).quadbarrel16/07/2020
Tried to cycle up the track by Inver Meadale but there was too much snow and ice so only got up 1km. Then headed east and up to the top. Fine day first of sevenSimon Winton13/03/2020
With Luna on a wet and windy day, my 100th marylin!BigNick18/08/2019
Parked at the entrance to the vehicle track leading to the Bealach Mor not causing any obstruction but was accosted by a female GOML who insisted I was on private property and should move. Welcome to Skye ! Anyway a nice walk and impressive views of the Cuillin ridge from the summit trig.NormanW08/06/2019
Easy walk up track to North of stream then across to crags. Interesting topography of summit area. Lovely wee lochan, not the one on the map.willyross03/05/2019
Walked up track to bealach and then followed the old fence line across the swamp, over the fence then direct line to summit. with elizyanneGmacT17/04/2019
with GmacT. Gave the menacing cows a wide berth! Followed track up and then used old wall/fence line to access the hill.elizyanne17/04/2019
From Meadale (NG 390348). There is a choice of two tracks, either side of the Allt Meadale - I chose the S track, as the N track is not clear from the roadside parking place whether it exists, or not. Wrong choice! - the S bank track soon petered out into faint ATV tracks, leaving 2-3 kms of gold-plated irk over unrelenting deep grass undulating moorland. So, I bee-lined it as much as possible to minimise the irk. A short quick descent NW brought me to the far superior N bank track.Isbjorn17/01/2019
Up the Meadale track on the bike and then short walk up rough slopes to the delightfully craggy summit. Good views. Beat the rain back.fasgadh05/01/2019
5of5: From A863 layby at 391349ChrisR29/10/2018
Rain and drizzle ceased! From 393348 at service road entrance. Solo walk up Meadale then steep but easy climb to summit. 1.75 hours return. Great summit and good views.bolton03/10/2018
A lovely summit and nice trig with golden lichen patches on the eastern side. FB on west side and wide raised lettering plug but of the type badly cast with some of the letters indistinct. Skye TuMPs no. 233 Bizarre mishap on way down. Three wire unbarbed fence to cross so just held it down with left hand to lift my right leg over it, when it gave me a jolt electric shock which me threw me sideways to fall on my right shoulder in the wet and muddy ground next to it. No warning sign on fence post, no black insulation showing either side on wire. Dangerously irresponsible installation, that looks wholly benign but isn't, IMHO. Shoulder is now hurting and sprained or possibly worse. Long term injury unfortunately.vegibagger10/07/2017
2/2 Marilyn. From A863 layby GR399335. Straight over moorland to summit. The Landrover track to north could be easier if following wet weather. Current dry spell made pleasant crossing. Trig poised on rock visible much of the way up.N.Morters29/05/2017
Up the Meadale track as others - fine summit.Chris Peart26/10/2016
from lay-by 397 338 across open ground to the top.robertphillips08/10/2016
Great hill to stretch the legs on. Carpark in opposite the start of the track. Took 1.5 hrs to get up. With margaret and annetallblond11/09/2016
Looked impressive approached from the west with snow. Good craggy top.jenx10/02/2016
Best hill of the four today w Jenx. Parked just up the bulldozed track at space for couple of cars before a closed gate. Walked up to bealach then pleasant steep climb and rocky edges to gain superbly situated trig and views of Skye. If only all were this good.nordicstar10/02/2016
Bog bashing in a gale. Great views, even though it isn't the most exciting hill in the world.Gill01/01/2016
easy track from Meadale to W, then rough. Rained most of the time.Thearlaichdubh16/08/2015
An easy one on the way to Uig, Leverburgh and St Kilda.Topographer5712/10/2014

With Mora, from A863 to south WestBLACKHILL03/10/2012
Followed the bulldozed track on the N side of Brae Meadale to Bealach Mor, then quickly up to the top.jimbloomer21/06/2012
Started at track beside Meadale Burn. At Bealach Mor there is evidence of an old grassed over wall that leads SW. Then pick your own way up to the trig point summit. Lots of false tops to add fun in the mist.Martin R28/02/2012
Afternoon ascent from track to the west.JohnW27/04/2009
On a track not shown on my 1976 map, nor was extensive forest to E. Past a brown ship's container to cross dry moor making for gap in first line of crags. By stream up to a higher grass band, easy tussock gap and around to left to top at 11.45. Skylark. Nice hill.arranc11/05/2008
Revisit. Fine complex rocky summit, fine view. Straightforward ascent from SW, along ridge.RHW25/08/2007
Up the burn and back. Just one bog which was a pleasure after the rock of yesterday's Ridge run.Eddie26/06/2005
