With Mo. Parked at Rhyd Ddu train station: £6 for a whole day (we needed it, 10 hours plus walking). We did most of the Nantlle Ridge up to Craig Cwm Silyn, then struck off down the moutainside. The route lived up to Trail Magazine's billing as a walk of a lifetime, but their route was very poor in terms of ease of use. Probably better to not do a circle, but continue on paths and have transport back organise.gbeniston06/06/2024
With Alma Aurea - second half of the Nantlle RidgeWe were targeting four summits, Y Garn (633m), Mynydd Drws-y-coed (695m), Trum y Ddysgl (709m) and Mynydd Tal-y-mignedd (653m). Great weather, still, sunny, good views. Very enjoyable. /Dmeltdiceburg19/05/2024

Came up from the Rhyd Ddu car park, a long slog to the top of Yr Garn but miles better than coming from the West side that I ended up going down to Cae Amos bothy, and then completing the loop back up the valley. The quarry at the top of the valley is a nice (dramatic) surprise after the long road walk.andrewroberts04/03/2023

Enjoyable walk along Nantlle ridge on clear/dry day with thunder elsewhere. Started near Talysarn - path through quarries difficult to follow. On to Myndd Mawr and down to Waunfach. Bus worked well from Caernarfon to start / finish.davechaffey11/05/2021

A 13 mile walk using Nuttall's route the one change I would make is the return to Rhyd-Ddu from Craig Cwm Silyn its not good it looked better to return to Mynydd Tal-y mignedd and follow the ridge down to the deserted quarry.WAYNE ROWLETT01/06/2019

The Nantlle Ridge from Rhyd-Ddu to near Maen-llwyd. With daughter, Katherine. Followed good path from SH566526 which goes steeply up to the summit of Y Garn. Good visibility here but mist came down for scramble up Mynydd Drws-y-coed. Compass in use for ascent of Trum y Ddysgl and on to Mynydd Tal-y-mignedd. The connecting col between these two hills has a level platform with very steep sides with a somewhat disconcerting dip half way along. It is easy enough to negotiate, though.pwbellarby11/04/2018
