Once again fuelled by a 6am Maccies trip we made it to Braithwaite. Felt good to have the play list back on as we went up in the civic this time. Once at Braithwaite we realised we had an issue. We had originally planned to do Graystones, Broom fell, Lords seat and Barf but the Whinlatter pass was closed for repair following a storm from 3 years ago!?!?!? Luckily this walk was already in the bank planned and with the weather being good we decided to go for it. Starting at the foot of the Whinlatter pass we crossed a foot bridge to get to the start. From there we went up the Kinn seeing a family of 3 deer. Very straight forward as in just follow the ridge but was long and very steep in parts. After the Kinn we carried on following the ridge up sleet how to the summit. Was a long very hard graft but very much worth it. Stunning views of most of the lakes, sunlight breaking through the clouds and a great view of the challenge ahead for that day.Scotty 2 Hotty24/11/2018

Andy and Vic. Very cold. Good view of Whinlatter south loop. The hill down seems rideable (you could ride fro Whinlatter). The grass was frozen with big droplets of moisture all blowing in the ferocious wind. I think this is the coldest I have ever been because of the extreme wind and below zero temp. We stopped to warm and have a hot drink in a shelter. We saw a woman and a man walking up - she had jeans on and a handbag! I have always felt a little irresponsible not telling them to stop given the weather on the summit.Tony Bailes29/12/2013
