With DW from Greendale. First walk of this miserable year so far. Meant to be cloudy and rainy, but T-shirt weather throughout. The steps on the last 100m are very worn and gravelly/slippy. Buckbarrow on descent and a mile long slog on the road to the car.nukeboy103/05/2024
2nd hill of 12 on a 29.3km circuit from Greendale cottages. After Middle Fell, I headed North then Nw to climb very steeply up a small track that has cut footsteps into the ground, slow-going but steady eventually arriving on barren plateaux. Fortunately i had grid ref to find high point. Also visited Trig pillar and larger Cairn, then headed North to High Pikehow...Dazingdale17/03/2024

From Greendale (no Postman Pat seen) up the good path to Middle Fell. Witnessed the end of summer sheep round up whilst walking over to High Pikehow. Once sheep cleared we went up the NE flank of Seatallan then took in the interesting summits of Glade How and Buckbarrow. Buckbarrow - Seatallan - Middle Fell.nolan22/10/2012
I parked at Greendale and took the lovely path between Buckbarrow and Middle Fell, emerging on the shores of Greendale Tarn. The way was clear from here, even though there was no path, and soon I was on the summit of Seatallan. This was one of the few sunlit days of an execrable summer, and the arc from Pillar round to the Scafell massif, all clear of cloud, made a superb vista.peter4lc05/09/2012

Boiling hot day. Shirtless up from Middle Fell. then ran down east to Nether Beck coming across a ravine (probably where Black Beck joins) which I ascended scrambling and wading long deep pools including one waist deep pool I waded holding all of my clothes and boots above my head - gained a lost world of overhanging walls shut in by trees. Great feeling of solitude. From end of ravine a path back in sunshine -soon dried out. Not often possible in the Lake District?Chris Pearson26/06/1986
