Hommage to Rory Gowland. Alumni gathered at summit to toast his memory with Rory's own cider. Outstanding weather for it.richardrosser15/10/2023
Ascent from col to north. Incredible cloud inversion at about 500m. Bright sunshine at top with a sea of white below and distant mountains poking their tops out. Never seen anything like it before. Twiggy not really impressed.desperate dan09/10/2023
From Llanaelhaearn, via B4417 and FP. Very scrambly over boulder fields. Next to Tre'r Ceiri on a much better path.IanHHill30/08/2023
Easy up gravel track opposite large car park, 20 - 30 mins up to path on right, steep up to some ruins then steepish and a bit scrambly in sections but not too hard to top, back down same way but straight across main path up to quarry building with fine viewpoint, back to startTribal2er25/07/2023

Up and back from the car park. Super foggy day and tricky walk in places. Obvious path but some slippery/ rocky sections. Had lunch at the top, sheltered in circle of stones next to trig.Hippy7716/02/2023
From Trefor for a round of Gyrn Ddu, Bwlch Mawr and Yr Eifl.rhalstead29/12/2022
Made a right cock up of this as did not look at the map and just headed straight up from the car park. On the lower slopes it was not too bad but higher up it was thick heather and large boulders. Took just over 30 minutes to the top. Views were stunning in every direction. Found the proper path on the way back down so it was slightly longer but a lot easier. Including the 20 minutes of relaxation on the summit it took me 70 minutes for 2.16 miles. Saw Stonechats Meadow Pipits Raven and out to sea a Gannet. Climbed Snowdon the day before but I have to say this hill would be my choice every time.isabelle31/08/2022

From the Mount Pleasant car park along the ROW to the exceptional fortifications of Tre'r Ceiri, then over to the interesting Trig of Yr Eifl and on to the panoramic peak of its North Top. Fascinating walk in fabulous weather - just a shame that Wales was getting trounced at Euro 2020 as we wandered up and down the rocky trails.summitter26/06/2021
From Tre'r Ceiri you can head through one of the fort entrances and down to the bwlch between the fort and Yr Eifl. From here there is a good path, not shown on the OS map, which leads to the summit of Yr Eifl. Stunning views from the top.Wheelsy26/06/2021
Circular of three Yr Eifl tops at an easy pace. Parked near Llithfaen in carpark at SH 353 440. Followed Welsh Coast Path then up steps past mast to Yr Eifl North Top. Down to col then vague path up to Yr Eifl summit. Across another col and up to the impressive stone hillfort at Tre'r Ceiri hillfort. Followed clear undulating paths back to car park. Bright sunny day; warm but rather hazy. Great views.Skip16/04/2021
Used car park north of Llithfaen. Circular walk of 6.5k capturing Yr Eifl and North Top on a beautiful afternoon.Ramblingpaul07/04/2021
Evening ascent of Yr Eifl from the car park to the west at SH 352 440. Splendid sunset over the Lleyn Peninsular and Irish Sea. 3.4km with 290m ascent in 1h20m there and back. (S)silveracorn_alan17/09/2020
Great 5 mile circular from road junction just outside Llithfaen, we followed paths across the flanks of Yr Eifl, joined the coast path following it up to its highest point; the col between Yr Eifl and its north top, bagged Yr Eifl north top by following steps up to mast compound then trail over boulders to cairn on top. We then retraced our steps to the col and climbed fairly steeply to Yr Eifl summit, after we followed trails to Tre'r Ceiri then back down to the car. Afterwards we drove around to and bagged Mynydd Carnguwch. Amazing weather; not a cloud in the sky with views of Snowdonia, Plynlimon, Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsular, you could even spot the Pembrokeshire hills along Cardigan Bay. A few people about.DanTrig14/09/2020

From junction at 367433, across field to stile S of Caergribin and clear path to next gate. Choice there of going W downhill or stiking across to fence and direct ascent. Faint path reported for a March ascent not found with August undergrowth! Came down good path towards SW car park before crossing to Caergribin - that looks a better route!henryfm24/08/2019

Came up here as a detour on coast walk from Nefyn to Trefor. Climbing up from sea-level at Nant Gwrtheryn, this is a strenuous walk, the path from the east is faint and very steep. Two Bronze Age cairns on the summit, one very impressive the other (to the southwest of the big cairn) quite trashed. Wonderful views. We couldn't find a path northeast from the summit so free-styled a route over the boulders and on towards Tre'r Ceiri.thesweetcheat08/05/2016
Parked east of the village called Llithfaen. Several routes up. Well worth a visit. Weird 4 metal bit out of the trig point. Excellent views and huge iron age fort again clearly seen. Must have been a well fought over area once. Wind surprisingly strong rain becoming heavier. Good final peak. Starting to get into these marilyns. Company: Soloiandesbottes01/01/2016
Porth-y-Nant upper car park at SH353440 - East along a decent path & then NE up Llyn Coastal Path - After passing through kissing gate in wall, headed up through the ramparts to the summit of Tre'r Ceiri, probably Britain's best preserved Iron Age hill fort - Exited through the western ramparts & then up good path through the heather to the summit trig point. These beautiful-looking hills provided a fabulous expedition. Pete and I walked with Mom as far as Bwlch yr Eifl, where a wonderful view NE opened up, from Mt. Pleasant CP at the top of the road to the Welsh language centre. She returned while we continued to the airy Trwyn y Gorlech, old quarries and the sea 800 ft below, peregrines and choughs. Then on to the 1458 ft N. Peak, then the main peak of Yr Eifl. Glorious vies, fine summit, but there was more to come as we went onto Tre'r Ceiri-of huge interest with its Ordovician hill top fort. We had found paths and sheep tracks to link up all this walk, to finish there was a very good path back to the car park. We spent so much time looking and savouring this walk we spent 5h 15 min to cover the 7 miles.pwheeler09/09/1997
