With: solo; Nuttalls walk 7.5. Good dry day with light wind and high cloud | Ian Baines | 09/10/2022 |
Updated Nuttall 7.5 from Bwlch yr Hwch: Foel Goch, Trum y Gwragedd (Trum y Gwrgedd), Foel y Geifr, Pen y Cerrig Duon, Pen y Boncyn Trefeilw, Stac Rhos, Cefn Gwyntog North Top, Cefn Gwyntog, Cefn Gwyntog Far North Top, Foel Cedig and Y Groes Fagl. Haxy, dull day, so there weren't even good views to distract from the relentless trudge through heather. | Lazylizzie | 03/09/2022 |
8th and last mountain of the day, again keeping to the track, you can clearly see a 6ft post on the top, as you come to a left bend where a path goes to the right, follow this right path for about 150 yards to find the top.
Come back to the track and follow this through the forest back to where you started. This was approx. 3 mile walk. | Buckleymon | 15/08/2022 |
Although an insignificant top, probably the best view of the group because Snowdon isn't impeded by other peaks in front of it. | Nick Canute | 05/03/2022 |

Did the Berwyns last year so just wanted to visit the newly promoted Foel Cedig. Parked the car at SH 95240 29987, walked along the road South to the track at SH 94627 27327 and then followed the track all the way back to the car. Also stopped off at Y Groes Fagl as it's the easiest of the other tops. Really wet today. | tsharp | 14/09/2018 |
From Hirnant Pass to W, using good track. Foel Cedig (shortly after assuming the Marilyn summit status - probably didn't visit 19 years previously when climbing Cyrniau Nod), Y Groes Fagl, then Stac Rhos on return. | RobertP | 02/09/2018 |

a round of mainly Nuttalls from The Hirmant Pass, 7.5, solo, on a blustery day | Lou | 11/06/2017 |
Walked the route in section 7.5 of the Nuttalls book. Foel Goch, Trum y Gwragedd, Foel y Geifr , Pen y Boncyn Trefeilw, Stac Rhos, Cefn Gwyntog, Cyrniau Nod, Y Groes Fagl.

People call these the boring Berwyns but I don't agree. How many of the hundreds of thousands who climb Snowdon and Cader Idris each year would persevere with this walk. It's a real challenge and there are some good views if the weather holds.

A very steep descent to Foel Goch reminded me how unfit I've become. Great views at the top, could see Arenig Fawr, Aran Fawddy and Snowdon in the distance inbetween the snow showers. The summit of Trum y Gwragedd was tantalisingly 40 foot on the other side of a barb wire fence. I decided not to be a purist but as I walked on the guilt gnawed at me and, 200 metres later at a corner post, I decided to leave my backpack, cross over and go back to the summit. My gloves and trousers already had holes in them and I'm not sure I'd have risked it if I had been wearing new exp | tsharp | 21/03/2017 |
