Circuit of Northern Rhinogs, starting from small woodland walks car park at SH626366. Took footpaths by Garth-byr, Coetty-mawr to eventually reach open hillside and climb Moel y Geifr. Descent to Llyn Eiddew-mawr and continued on W side. Continued SSE and eventually climbed the rough ridge to reach Clip. Continued along the ridge to Craig Ddrwg, Corn-y-stwc [Craig Ddrwg North Top], Moel Ysgyfarnogod, the two tops of Foel Penolau (the first requiring some care), Moel y Gyrafolen, Craig y Gwynt. Return by path running W to reach minor road via Caerwych, then path through woodland at Ceunant Coch to start. Some rough terrain and paths not always clear and some overgrown with bracken. | RobertP | 30/07/2022 |
An afternoon ascent of Moel Y Gyrafolen. Parked at SH 686 355 on the minor road on east side of the lake. Space for one car on the grass by telegraph pole. Walked a short distance along the road, then left up the RoW to reach the col. Then up the lovely little tack that winds its way up between the crags of the north ridge to the summit. Returned to the col and then across to Craig y Gwynt. A beautiful afternoon's walk with great views of Snowdonia in the Easter sunshine. Just 6km with 400m ascent, taking 2h20m. | silveracorn_alan | 16/04/2022 |
On a hot long day finally Riyadh was my journey all along the rough and exhausting Rhinogs ridge from before the northerly Marilyn all the way down collecting all the tops & culminating in Rhinog Mawr | vegibagger | 16/07/2021 |
2 day traverse from Talsarnau to Barmouth from Diffwys point 577 | underhill | 14/05/2021 |
Last of 6 for the day from 683335 in a clockwise direction, Craig Wion first, (2 Nuttalls done previously).
Plenty of up and down over rough stuff and rock to negotiate. Left Degsy to do the Nuttalls. SW to track - which was a relief - and back to quarry. Great weather but a little windy. Just over 6 hours and 8 miles. | bolton | 21/04/2021 |
From Coed y brenin west, parking for Rhinog Fawr etc. Forest to ruins of Hafod Gynfal then rough grass to cefn clawdd. Yes I lost the path. Mine track to forestry then quad track to wall junction and gate, stile. Left pack at wall for easy out and back. Summit unmarked. The view at the cairn is stunning. On to F.P. via Diffwys. | stig_nest | 18/04/2021 |
Parked at quarry on way to Cefn Clawydd. Followed track to it's end, then up Foel Penolau and on to Moel y Gyrafolen. | PGCE | 14/08/2020 |
Seven 5-600m summits between Trawsfynydd & Cwm Bychan with Rufus. Parked SH 68357 33605 off-road at quarry and walked towards Cefn Clawdd, track on right just before farm until small plantation then direct to gate and stile in NE corner of wall. Quick out and back to Moel y Gyrafolen then high ground over the tops to Clip. Return via Bwlch Gwylim and track down depression then increasingly boggy path/ROW NE/E to road again. Great hills, some tricky descents with the dog, sometimes taking big detours to avoid descending steep grit outcrops. | jacobrichmond | 10/08/2020 |

Started from the quarry (? waste tip for a mine across the road). Walked to end of road and then up track. Left track at SH 67186 34394 and crossed moorland to fence. Couldn't find a style so climbed over SH 67336 34657 and turned left. Followed fence to obvious notch in the ridge between Clip and Moel y Gyrafolen and then on to top. There is a cairn but it's not the top. Top is a small outcrop. Reversed route back to a small plantation and then down the track back to the car. | MikeM | 30/06/2017 |

Parked at end of road to SE. End of road to East seemed unfriendly and probably tricky to park. Good track then quad bikes and a few bits and pieces. Followed wall to near summit then a gate and a stile. | destaylor | 09/10/2014 |

With MJ, DP & CA. See David's log. Complete traverse of Nuttalls, Deweys and other peaks north from Rhinog Fawr. Is it summer already? Interesting granite terrain! | AGWilliamson | 24/03/2012 |
Same as AW and DP on CUHWC Easter trip, in a March heatwave and glorious sunshine. Very rough and slow going on majority of route, but fascinating terrain and a real sense of exploration. | Mark Jackson | 24/03/2012 |
Added to the Nuttall walk. | David Gradwell | 25/07/2011 |
Northern most summit on the "ridge" 3 high point but the GR is within 10m of my preferred option. Makes a nice final top if combined with the two northern Nutalls when walking from the Eastern side with a reasonable set of tracks back to the park point. | Rhayader_wander | 14/01/2007 |
