Nuttall 10.3. Used the small parking area on the road bend just above the Mountain Centre beyond Aberilefenni. Further parking area about 1km along forest road after the LH fork before a forest gate on the Nuttall route. Initial path ascending through the clearcut faint - but starts by a fire notice. Once above the 2nd forest road, path is well established through the remaining woods to the ridge. Thereafter Mynydd Ceiswyn - Waun-oer - Cribin Fawr - Craig Portas - Craig Portas E Top - Maesglase - Maen Du - (back to Craig Portas) - Mynydd Dolgoed W Top. On the steep descent back into Cwm Ratgoed there is a newish bwf to cross to enter the access land woods and mapped ROW seems none existent. Instead half way down by a rotten stile aim NW to the corner of the woods by a ruin and a gate out into a grass field. Cross the grass W to pick up the ROW on the track. Very enjoyable walk with good views and an impressive grass ridge traverse between Craig Portas and Maesglase. Solo. | richard69 | 06/06/2024 |

A pleasant enough clockwise round of the fells above Aberllefenni made a little more exciting by my having difficulty in finding a clear route into Cwm Ratgoed. | oldbagger27 | 17/06/2023 |

From near Aberllefennli with Mark, Hamish and Huey. Hot day. Long slog up through the forest. Pleasant walk back down by the old quarry. | Saggers | 08/05/2016 |
From Aberllefenni on two night backpack. Followed Nuttall route through forest. Devastation just above the village with recent clear felling. Grassy knolls, great views. | mick | 04/05/2016 |
Solo walk using the Aberllefenni bus service. Some muddy forestry tracks at the start, then a nice uphill footpath which disappeared at some point. I took a more direct route and ended up climbing the little cliff of Mynydd y Waun. Very glad to finally make the top of Mynydd Ceiswyn. Hanging cloud obscuring Cadair Idris. Onwards to Waun-oer. | thesweetcheat | 09/05/2015 |

Parked at Aberllefenni by the field studies centre. Walked northwards on the tracks before taking the right of way north west onto the ridge. Once on top the weather started to tip it down and visibility became negligible. | garyhoney | 20/07/2002 |

Straight after my last final Uni exam, down by bus from Sheffield, then 4 glorious days of solitude, walking between hostels across lovely empty 2000 feet hills (Bridges). 6,500feet of ascent today (Day 1) in hot and humid conditions made for a hard day over 12 tops of the Cader group from Kings Dolgellau to Dinas Mawddwy YH.
