Improvised parking on uphill verge 20m before track up the hill from the SW, marked by two metal posts. Easily over wall to huge summit cairn. Extremely windy and wet. A nice summers day. | Minto | 15/07/2023 |
From unfenced road to the SW. Up hill on ATV track to wall. Massive ancient hollowed out summit cairn. With Jill & Minto. | Dangerous Dave | 15/07/2023 |
As others- parked by cattle grid to S. Up alongside wall, trod all the way to impressive summit cairn. Decent terrain with sheep trods for much of the way. Getting up the massive, bouldery summit cairn needed care in blustery wind. After Foel, on way from Warwick to holiday let in Morfa Nefyn, with Pete. | pwheeler | 12/03/2022 |
With Rufus from cattle grid by Tai-Uchaf. Attempted from NW at point 252m over the outcrop spot height 296m but ended up boxed in by high wall with BWF both sides. Huge tumulus and amazing view. | jacobrichmond | 04/09/2021 |
Easy parking by cattle grid to S. at SH 3766 4236 - Up alongside wall to impressive summit cairn. Decent terrain with sheep trods for much of the way. (S) | gerrybowes | 07/10/2020 |
Easy up-and-down following wall to summit from parking space by cattle grid on country lane to the south. Earlier that day we did a 5 mile circular taking in Yr Eifl North Top, Yr Eifl and Tre'r Ceiri. Amazing weather with great views all around. | DanTrig | 14/09/2020 |
From north. | PGCE | 18/08/2020 |
P S of hill by cattle grid. Up by wall to top. | chrisbien | 01/07/2019 |
From the right of way due east of the top. There was a fence to cross but it could be detached and re-attached where it went above a gate to allow access into the field with the trig point. The way northwest from the top to the gate at the road junction is barred by walls and fences. | Alan Moore | 03/05/2019 |

From the W over access land with stone wall to cross just before summit tumulus / cairn. Extensive but murky views, rain on the way. | RichardM | 09/04/2018 |
From Nant Gwrtheyrncar park. Yr Eifl North Top, Yr Eifl and Mynydd Carnguwch. Very cold and windy for the first walk of 2018!! | Alunrees33 | 09/01/2018 |
From cattle grid due S of top, plenty of parking. High winds and driving rain progressivley worsened as the top approached; cloud down to 250m. No views; not pleasant. Shame as it was a nice rocky top. | jonglew | 10/09/2017 |
From the minor road junction to West, room for a car at roadside above a gate, which can be used cut across pasture field to gain the fence alongside access land and avoid the rough heather from the man road pull in which is not a good place to start from. Up and down w Bryher and Jenx on a fine day inside 30 mins, as described by others | nordicstar | 20/07/2017 |
Easy walking from the road junction to west. | jenx | 20/07/2017 |
From south, follow lane to 376423 once over cattle grid plenty of space to park off road. Straight up basically following line of wall to top. No walls or fences to cross. | Rob50 | 28/04/2017 |
With K and M. Too hot for hills! Our only bag of the day. From W. Some walls/fences to wrangle. | Ashley | 17/07/2016 |

From SH 369 428. | summitsup | 18/07/2013 |
Park at entrance to Hafod on 4417. Walk up over rough pasture and fallen walls. Could not find an easy way over the large cross stone wall - please replace any fallen stones. | arranc | 31/05/2013 |
If setting out from Llanaelhaearn don't bother with the footpath via Gelliau. Lots of wonky tied gates, rough ground and a very overgrown stream to contend with. From Hafod the best way up is to follow the bridleway south until due east of the summit and then it is access land without any walls to get in your way. | Alex C | 16/04/2013 |
From B4417 along with Yr Eifl | tim747 | 09/03/2013 |
Nefyn to Llanaelhaearn. Old quarry gate just W of road summit provided access to the NW ridge fenceline. Descent beside ENE wall to track & back to road (getting dark). | Smudge | 26/11/2011 |
From Llanaelhaearn en route to Yr Eifl | davidpettit84 | 19/06/2011 |
Parking space to the NNW, then follow fence to fence junction to avoid prickly vegetation. The follow fence line + over wall to fine large summit cairn with hollowed out centre. | Dugswell2 | 05/03/2011 |
Climbed on a round of Yr Eifl from Llithfaen with Andy. | Man of Kernow1 | 28/11/2010 |
Easy stroll over from the B 4417 once you've ploughed through a bit of heather. Tre'r Ceiri hillfort opposite much more impressive!! | signyred | 07/06/2009 |
From SW. Heather for final few hundred metres to top. Wall with barbed wire on far side near the top - tricky. Large cairn with hollowed out centre at the top. | destaylor | 28/05/2009 |
fairly ordinary (for Lleyn) summit & view. park 372436, follow grass & cross 1 wall to summit | RHW | 10/02/2002 |
