Third hill of morning. Thunder. lightning and heavy rain. Unpleasant. | Dusty | 07/11/2022 |
A long walk around the Pegwn Mawr ridge. Parked at the entrance to the Bronde-fawr forest (SO 047 767). Headed north visiting Brondre-fawr Hill, then following bridleways via Banc Du to the wood at Garn Fach. Headed up onto the main ridge and the wind farm at Galfeinion Hill, north along to the trig Yr Allt West Top. Back tracking to Glanfeinion Hill, and quickly along the wind farm tracks to the cairn and trig at Pegwn Mawr. Crossing rough country to Crugyn Llwyd and the tumulus at Domen-ddu. Back along the forest road, and across the valley via Brondre Fach and Brondre Fawr, finally up through the last forest to the car. Misty with drizzle on and off, so poor views. A total of 35km with nearly 900m ascent, taking 9h 30m. | silveracorn_alan | 30/07/2022 |
Cycled across the ridge from Pegwn Mawr. Mists cleared, but still the din of turbines, descended down to Llandinam | brandybordeaux | 27/12/2019 |
Garn Fach from NE, Bryn Dadlau junction, RoW then easy firebreak, HP in spruce plantation. Back N a little way, contoured then crossed Blue Lins Brook via bridleway (bridge), then good track to Glanfeinion and back to Bryn Dadlau. Windfarm (CeltPower) busy on a cold windy snowy day, and noisy - showing its age - a few bearings maybe needing attention | RHW | 15/12/2019 |
Parked by gate at end of road to the north and climbed Bryn Gwyn, Yr Allt West Top and Glanfeinion Hill. 7.1 miles round trip mostly on tracks. A little over 2 hours. | clivevilla | 17/04/2017 |
