From All Stretton via Cwms Walk after trip on 435 bus from Shrewsbury. Dull day albeit windy on top. Ground saturated although tops well-drained. Seen this hill many times from train, always wanted to walk it, at last I got organised! Down and over to Hope Bowdler next.JOHNS08/04/2024

Very wet underfoot but took the contour path clockwise to the col with Little Caradoc and the ridge line path to the hp. Continued over and down via Three Fingers Rock to the contour path and back. 11.1 mile circular from The Lawley car park. Along minor road and onto main path in Lodge Hill Wood. After a while a path cuts through the main ridge wall and a small but clear trail follows wall on its south-east side up to Lodge Hill summit. The summit has a nice view to the west. We retraced our steps and took a little-used path across the fields to Chatwall Hall then followed the minor road over Yell Bank with nice views all the way to Hope Bowdler Hill, then up steeply onto Caer Caradoc Hill following easy paths with one final pull over The Lawley back to car park. Perfect weather and not too cold for this time of year. As it was a Sunday there was quite a few people around the Caer Caradoc area. Great views stretching to the Berwyns and Arans in Wales. 849m ascent.DanTrig05/02/2023

With Lesley, from north immediately after showers earlier in day so expecting to see very few people. Approaching the summit met a group of 6 young men wearing traditional orthodox Jewish attire and town shoes speaking yiddish but greeted us and wished us a beautiful day. A little further we met about another 20 young men /teenagers on the summit with approx a further 40 still making their way up from the south. Some were playing recorders, some reciting prayers. I noticed one group had dropped litter and bottles and I asked them to pick up. Although one replied humorously sarcastic, asking me if I was the manager of this mountain, another young man bossed the rest of them into picking up all the litter. We descended the same way followed by some of the young men. Several however tried to descend slopes directly in various places until stopped by the gorse and bracken then had to reascend or traverse.Nick Canute15/08/2022
Walk from Church Stretton over Caer Caradoc, Little Caradoc, The Lawley, Hope Bowdler Hill and Hazler Hill. If I'd known my train was gonna be that late I'd've done Ragleth Hill as well. Tried to find Caractacus's cave at the top but didn't want to find it by tripping over an earthwork and falling in so gave up.Jael Break02/07/2022

Parked at Botvyle Farm Holiday Cottages lay-by with their post box in and the start of the public pathway. 477 961. Across field , over style, near memorial bench. Turning right on track through gate and past sign threatening trespassers will be buried ! Zig zag path to the top after a few false summits. Great views. Carefully came back same way , very steep.Hippy7717/08/2021
Parked just north of Botvyle Barn Farm Cottages, space for 3-4 cars and right on top of the public footpath. Very steep ascent (even more challenging on a blustery day) but views from the top made it worthwhile. Descended to the south (which is far less steep) and followed the footpath round the west side of the mound. Spectacular views and fantastic hike. Yet another one to return to!jamiequackers08/08/2021

Parked car in a housing estate and headed for farm. Farm owner kindly let me go through back of farm as I'd missed the path at the start. Straight up the long grass and onto ridge. Great hill. Repeated with Yeltzbagger and Stevie n Tay 22/4/21. Incredible day. First biggish hill for my mum for 18 months after illness.ketzster16/06/2020
Lockdown eased so full day out with Lindsey. We did the Stiperstones in the morning, toured round Corndon Hill then drove across the Mynd and parked near the A49 in Church Stretton. Followed the usual route up onto Caer Caradoc summit on a bright warm evening (my sixth logged visit). Came off the hill at 8pm and was home by 10. A very good day.Skip19/05/2020
