Parked at edge of track opposite Strome Carranach, down road to Stromeanach track, followed track up through wood to sheilings, then up various sheep tracks to ridge and onto summit. Back along ridge to around 862368, and down to col just east of 246m Knoll, then over fence and up around to ridge following line of Crags to ridge, over deer fence and around ridge to summit. Back around ridge to Loch then directly down to corner of forest, around forest to meet track to Strome Carranach and back along track to car. Not bad underfoot but not fast. | JulieB | 08/08/2024 |
From Bad a'Chreamha, over the Tump, deer fence then to negotiate. Great views to Skye. Dank inland. With D. Dave. Descended SE under the cliffs to the gate in the forest and pleasant walk to road and back to the car at the weavers cottage. | bolton | 03/04/2024 |
A long day for three small hills! Parked at Weavers Cottage. Bad a-Chreamha, Cnoc Mheadhonach & An Sgurr. Gate into corner of forest then lovely walk down. With bolton. | Dangerous Dave | 03/04/2024 |
Circuit from near Lochcarron using track to shielings and returning via Strome Carronach. | govanah | 06/09/2023 |
parked at bell end to an empty house opp track to Strome Carronach. past the two small cottages. kept on track outside the forested area. obvious ATV muddy track. through enriched field with scarecrow. through opened gate into out by- heathery area. kept to open aspect heading towards 246 height, util encountered a new HIGH deer fence, which had none - few post supports, making it very wobbly to climb. continued up hill until i found a post solid enough to take my weight . past small lochan, complex ground, onto summit . returned the same way . | VerySlowPlodder | 20/05/2023 |
From Bad a’Chreamha, up easy ground over the deer fence. Fine views to Skye and Applecross descent via the track in the woods, access gained by gate into woods short way down from high point. Would make a good route up too.. | N.Morters | 13/03/2022 |
Wtih Bad a’ Chreamha from North Strome, during Shills meet. Chosen as forecast dire – but was fine in end. Time doesn’t include cycling back to Strome from high point on Lochcarron – Kishorn road. | Rounsfell | 02/10/2021 |
Grand views and eagle flying over at summit. With Gmac and Loki x | elizyanne | 04/09/2021 |
I took the same route as others from Strome Carronach to An Sgurr. There must have been an extensive hill fire recently (no plant regrowth is showing yet) which destroyed the pine plantings prior to the deer fence and reached all the way to the summit. | Peterb | 03/04/2021 |
After Bad a’Chreamha, headed NE down to the bottom of the glen, skirted pt246 on the East side and then North up to the top | Simon Winton | 19/03/2020 |
Followed Nordicstar’s directions but no sign of gate in deer fence, so crawled underneath just below top corner. | Lionel Bidwell | 17/06/2019 |
Parked at the road end for Strome Carronach. Sign says no vehicles. Black Mares Rock first then An Sgurr and ended up on Bad a' Chreama.Just over 3 hours. | NormanW | 13/06/2019 |
A nice evening stroll in the sun with fine views. The road to Strome Carronach is private, but seemed OK to drive up and park at the bend below the farm. The W track leads to an attractive grassy climb outside the forest but this leads into nasty bogs. Once across, it's easy going. I headed uphill too soon, so had a bit of easy scrambling, then climb a deer fence, then up and down before the top. Went down the easy valley S from the bealach to join the outward route, climbing the deer fence again. Easiest to go into the forestry at a gate, a rough track joins a vehicle track leading back to the farm track. | Gill | 05/04/2019 |
Via Glenmore. Greeted by two out of control dogs, 200m before the dwellings - the black one bared its teeth at me. Up dirt track to high point before lochan, then over very rough ground to top, going around N flanks to avoid ups and downs on the knolly terrain. | Isbjorn | 22/02/2019 |
Route up from Strome Carronach but had to climb deer fence as no obvious deer gate or stile. Great views all round on first bright day of winter. | willyross | 28/10/2018 |
Round of An Sgurr and Bad a'Chreamha from the east. Followed tracks north from farmhouse, should have followed the west track. | Topographer57 | 09/06/2018 |
Pretty much as Nordicstar. A nice circuit. | PGCE | 10/05/2018 |

Pretty much used same route as Clive. Absolutely fantastic weather. Much nicer walk than I imagined. Good views to Applecross hills. | jenx | 16/08/2016 |
From pt 22 on tge road, below Strome Carronach. The track followed NW into woods. At its end a path leads to a hill gate. Follow track around under crags and up north to deer gate. Direct line to top. Returned to same point and headed direct to col and to climb Bad a' Chreamha. Lovely viewpoints both, trig on the final top sublime in the warm sunshine. Down the East ridge easily and to Shielings then track and road to start point. . | nordicstar | 16/08/2016 |
Lovely round of An Sgurr & Bad a'Chreamha from the east. Parked at end of forest road at 879373, then followed it to end at 865378, where a new path leads W to forest edge and a gate. Followed above cliff line to 861384 where the deer fence has an opening cut in it. Straighforward to An Sgurr summit with wonderful views of Beinn Bhan. Headed to Bad a'Chreamha via very rotten stile over deer fence at 859378, then east of point 246 to reach ridge of Bad a'Chreamha 400m east of summit trig. Descended east ridge to 871370, then to shielings, weavers and along road to start point. | Clive G | 08/05/2016 |
MC. Whilst working at AT. Set off at 5.30 pm from Lochcarron Weavers by way of birch wood. 1 hour to summit. One crossing of deer fence. Found an old ladder across - but very rotten. Good views to Applecross hills. Return by same route in 45 mins. | Martin66 | 13/04/2016 |

round of an sgurr and bad a chreamha from fc tracks at strome carronach. | robertphillips | 16/11/2014 |
After B A'Chreamha and meant it involved trying to avoid several dramatic crags. Also resulted in a bit of road walking to finish. Suspect most folks get this one from Glen Mor. Fab views all round. | Martin R | 24/09/2014 |
Enjoyable bag of 2 marilyns using forest track from Strome Carronach and back via shielings | AndrewFinnimore | 16/02/2014 |

Took a bike over the Strome Ferry (operational during Jan and Feb 2012 to road end above Strome Carronach. Easy ascent once stile over deer fence found. A very fine hill | fasgadh | 14/02/2012 |
Steep descent from Bad a'Chreamha and then a rough climb, over a deer fence, to rocky summit. Tremendous views of the Beinn Bhan corries and Bealach nan Ba in snow. Back via Strome Carronach. | chriswatson | 19/03/2011 |
Solo hill, easier. Dry, partly sunny, warm, calm, good views. | iangalbraith | 21/06/2010 |
Parked on the A896 and used the track south to gain height. From there an easy stroll to the top. Returned by same route. | garyhoney | 14/07/2009 |
With Phil, Jon & Mark, from Kishorn. | Grinner | 03/05/2009 |
Parked at a wide entranceway to a hill track. Down to Glenmore Lodge, up hill on track up 500'. At a bend climbed a steep bank to very rough moor, plod through clinging bracken, heather and bits of green swamp, steeply up and into mist. At 1,100' top flattened out onto orange deer grass, passing crags and to top at 10.35. 1 stag and 2 hinds moved away .4 very small stones on a crag rivalled large pile of stones on first. Mist lifted to give magical views of cloud covered hills and mist filled valleys. Chreamha, Loch Kishorn, B na Ba road, B Bhan and stirrup mark on B Damh. Train heard going to Kyle. | arranc | 13/09/2008 |
