As others, form E. Could be a bogtrot on a wet day. | colazione | 08/09/2024 |
Up and down from the lay-by on the B743 to the East. | summitter | 20/04/2024 |
From the E, parking on B743 in handy layby at county border (NS 6831 3259). Good track leads up on N side forestry fencing. | jonglew | 06/03/2024 |
As others followed the boundary fence up. | Andrew Simmons | 04/01/2024 |
From E as others, initially rough then decent path appears beside forest. Post hernia operation rehab, today we do tussocks | RHW | 02/12/2023 |
Parked at East Ayrshire border layby. Walked back to the treeline. Going for the first few hundred yards is the hardest of the route but still fine. About 2/3 up it joins ATV tracks to the summit. If you can spare an extra 5-10 mins, there's a nice fire-break just 20 or 30 yards further down the road which takes you up to where you can pick up the ATV track heading left (South). | MickyRoss | 19/03/2022 |
From county boundary parking on B743. Hard work in deep, soft snow - as if the tussocks, heather and bog weren't enough. | vuirich | 19/02/2022 |
From boundary parking, quite easy to walk up just within the mature forestry and, higher up, on a reasonable path squeezed between trees and fence | 49pp | 18/08/2021 |
P B743, revisit on the way to Wedder Hill, | agentmancuso | 13/06/2020 |
10th and penultimate tump of the day, after Middlefield Law, as others, parking in the layby at the County boundary sign on the B743. Initial stage very wet but improving. Outward route veered more to forest before passing 423m spot height and onwards to vague summit just shy of the fenceling intersection. I recorded 429m @ NS 66271 32316. This hill completed the Ayr catchment, my 13th! Return easier as i found the remnants of a track and then deer paths plus a more direct route was actually less wet. Continuation to Ardochrig for an out and back to Corse Hill... | Dazingdale | 27/09/2019 |
Park at county boundary. You can avoid some of the worst wetness by following the Slot burn, but mainly knee high tussocky grass or heather floating on bog. Good view of Middlefield Law. Also good that it is also in E Ayrshire. | Thearlaichdubh | 28/12/2018 |
parked 150 m south of boundary line/trees across wet ground to first top then very faint wet atv to the summit. | robertphillips | 21/06/2018 |
Not a nice hill at all. Went up from the county boundary, crossing an area of tussocks and marsh, followed by shallow slopes of long grass. I did find a vague set of vehicle ruts between the two tops but it's faint indeed. No chance of retaining dry feet here. | Colin Crawford | 17/09/2015 |
From parking. Managed to find faint paths and higher up a track. Top as agentmancuso. | chrisbien | 24/04/2015 |
Straight up from parking on county boundary, lots of heather, light dusting of snow. | agentmancuso | 11/01/2014 |
