From the parking area at NX 9328 6913 we headed past Lochaber Loch where later a sharp right turn takes to a track heading off right past a picnic bench following the brown ring topped post route. The track thins out and arrives at another bench where from there a thrash through the trees takes you to the top which is marked with a wooden stake in the ground. Returned roughly the same way to the bench and returned to the car the same way upWayne Mac25/08/2023
From Mabie using the brown trail to the bench then into the conifers. Found a small post at the HPAndrew Simmons01/04/2023
Along the brown walking trail to its highest point then up through the trees to the summit. Dense young forest made the going tough but I found what might have been a small forest break on the way down (it was a a few metres away from the bench/viewpoint.borderterrier14/11/2022
From CP(£2). Leave the main track shortly after entering the forest. Soon there is a straight path following the forest edge (pasture visible). From the pasture corner (NX945703) follow a good path to the bench. Short thrash from there.mae05/01/2022
Marthrown hill and craigbill hill from mabie forest CProbertphillips23/04/2021
From forest CP to east. Good track to NX 9447 7074, whence sharp left turn and follow the waymarked path to approx 60m south of the summit, after which fairly dense plantation to push through. Obvious high point marked by bit of a post.jonglew06/11/2020
After Marthrown Hill and, I suppose, not quite as horrific. I approached directly through a birch wood then a scramble up through tolerable conifers. The clearing may be the top but I also found a small ridge covered in close grown trees which may be as highColin Crawford18/08/2020
Took the pleasant path which runs E-W across this hill until reaching a wooden seat. From here it was a short thrash through dense tree cover to the summit area. Crawled around for a bit trying to work out the high point, driving a wooden stake into the ground at my best guess. If everyone to come this way brings a rock then we may be able to build a summit cairn around the stake.summitter06/09/2019
Thrash through dense spruce to indistinct HP. The many paths in Mabie Wood at least enable you to get closeDenise 23/03/2018
Take the good track/path on the S side of the forested hill until SE of the summit Then up grassy firebreak with birch after which it's a bit of a struggle for 30m to high point where there's a tiny heathery clearing in Sitka Spruce(?) No views.RichardM23/03/2018
Really nasty. Followed the Brown cycle route from the E, till c.60m due S of summit then vicious hand-to-hand struggle with the jungle.agentmancuso12/08/2017
Brown trail from CP goes close to top of M and C. Path to 93510 70734 and break to 93494 70827 then all over the place to trig and base of tower. On to CH. Headed N from bench by path - murder. Back down and along brown trail to car.chrisbien23/05/2017
Approached from minor col to the west. Difficult g oing through dense secondary growth. Left to the east and soon met red waymarked path. From the east would be route Of choice.cjo10/05/2017
