Easy parking on Drumfad road then track to ruined farm. Rough pasture beyond, wall to cross then gorse on top, fairly easily negotiated. Various recent plaques on cairn | Colin Crawford | 31/05/2023 |
From road to the west. | robertphillips | 10/07/2021 |
Tucked car just into lane for Blairbuy (NX 3557 4188). Field gate into rough pasture at NX 3670 4212, then a wall with strand of electric wire running above, after which out onto very rough pasture and up to top through gorse etc. Best view point of today's dozen hills. | jonglew | 18/05/2021 |
P small CP at W edge of village, track through Blairbuy & up to approach from NW through some trees, mostly skirting gorse. Back down via Stellock track. | agentmancuso | 30/04/2021 |
Parked on minor road to the west then walked up track towards Blairbuy Farm. Continued on track to use gate to access track towards gorse covered hillside some of which had recently been burnt. Going was mucky in places. | Dugswell2 | 25/03/2018 |

easy walk up from the Maxwell Monument, along farm tracks then across fields and meadows. | borderterrier | 05/08/2017 |
1st of 6 hills today on a challenging route that was a bit of a Moo-sance from Port William to Garlieston. I walked from the Hawthorn House B&B to Port William town centre and then took B7085 to track and then on minor road to fp signed to the Loch (at Lodges on os map). Took track around Monreith house (even though private-oops)heading EsE over Monreith Burn (boots off/socks off and wade across)Traverse across Jamie's Hill, fending off cows by running and shouting-they charged towards me whenever my back was turned.!Tricky crossing of elec fences and gates to use track and then cut up through woodland and then spotted free access through gorse before being able to head across to summit with large cairn! Nice top. Descent E and EsE to Barmeal but not an easy route through bramble tangled bracken blockade. | Dazingdale | 04/08/2017 |
