Myself and Alma Aurea completed the Dambusters walk on an extended walk from Rhayader and took a detour up to this summit. A great view up here and a good cairn. A nice summit to include in our day. /Dmeltdiceburg17/09/2023
From the east. It is possible to drive up as far as the common as the road is tarmac all the way. One unlocked gate. However we walked up onto the sheep moor. Good views of the reservoir from the top. With Jemma and Sandra.Campbell Singer24/06/2023
From the minor road to the east. Good road up to the common. Then sheep covered hill. Pretty. With Dad and Sandra.Jemma Singer24/06/2023

A lovely walk past the overflowing Caban Coch dam with my daughter's dog. Up Nant y Gro to Ty'n Y Pant then up the hillside to the impressive rocky summit.Rob Rees29/12/2021
From Elan Village along the shore of Caban Coch & then up on the PRoW via Ty'n-y-Pant. Return via the same way.DanMaisieBex04/06/2021

From the ENE. Parked at 93708 63526, up the track then across. Nice hill.clivevilla14/07/2020
Moderate cairn on top with wild feel - within moorland/ sheep pasture. Good views to Elan valley, the source of Birmingham's water, noting very low levels. Met the chatty local farmer on descent, who told us that the sheep were 'settled' to the land- the females never leave and neither fences nor shepherds are needed to keep them in one place.Easy terrain to walk on after Carn Gafallt.Denise 31/08/2018
From the E, initially farm track to col then sheep pasture to summit with medium cairn. A long chat with friendly farmer who has a flock of hefted sheep on the hillside, water level in reservoir almost as low this year as he's ever seen it.RichardM31/08/2018
From Elan Valley Visitor Centre and after Carn Gafallt. Straightforward detour from the popular bridlewayto the S.milimana08/04/2018

From disused quarry near Elan Valley Visitor Centre (SN 92435 64596) - Y Foel - Cnwch. Followed road past water treatment works before taking signed path at SN 93439 65420. Followed clear path to fence at SN 92890 65739 before bearing left to head steeply uphill, from here a multitude of paths lead to Y Foel summit cairn. Return by the same route and through Elan Valley Visitor Centre to ascend Caban-coch Dam. Clear path along the shoreline to Nant y Gro Dam before a steep ascent to the summit cairn of Cnwch.david23020107/06/2015
