Left the car in Newport and took buses T5 and 430 via Cardigan to Crymych for an excellent ridge walk - Foel Drygarn, Carn Menyn, Carn Bica, Carn Sian, Foel Feddau, Foel Cwmcerwyn, Cerrig Lladron and across the valley to Mynydd Carningli. Weather improved as the morning progressed, along with views. With Gillian. Well deserved dinner in the Golden Lion afterwards. | richard69 | 12/08/2024 |
Teamed up with Adrian to do a through-walk taking in Foel Cwmcerwyn, Carn Sian, Carn Menyn, Foel Drygarn on a decent afternoon | mazz | 04/05/2024 |
Parked in layby at 16540 33083, along the track opposite on to the common ground where there is an interesting information board. Across to the hill and up. Windy on top where, as the name suggests, there are three cairns. | clivevilla | 03/04/2024 |
Great walk, first proper off lead one with flora - she was a dream. No sheep but poo so just got lucky. | bill.57890 | 28/11/2023 |

From parking area to SE at SN 1654 3307, N. along track & through gate to start of excellent grassy path - Pleasant climb through the ramparts of the Iron Age hillfort to the summit trig point; this lies on the centremost of three large Bronze Age burial cairns. Excellent little hill with extensive views. Continued to Carn Menyn. | gerrybowes | 06/07/2022 |
On Nicholas memorial- Crugiau Dwy- Foel Dyrch- Carn Menyn- Foel Drygarn- Mountain-bach- Nicholas memorial walk. I went to the final, E top of Carn Menyn then chose from the many paths to get onto Foel Drygarn, another good Preseli summit a 'history' one rather than a 'geology' one. I do like these hills. The path to Mountain-bach was quite obvious from the great choice of paths in this deservedly popular area. The last mile on the bw back to my car at the Nicholas memorial was indistinct in places, and any slightly worn trods took me over Maes y Garn and then beside a fence (not a problem). | pwheeler | 10/05/2022 |
The first of 6 tops on a wonderful walk across Mynydd Preseli from Crymych to Newport, taking in some terrific archaeology. A sunny spring morning. Up from the southeast, descended southwest to Carn Ferched. | thesweetcheat | 26/04/2022 |
Eleven mile walk along the Preselli Hill with Mog. Dropped off near Foel Drygarn and from there to Carn Menyn, Carn Sian, Foel Cwmceryn and Cerrig Lladron (the latter a repeat from a couple of days before) before descending to our cottage for the week at Tregynon. Clear but strong wind. Good day out. | Herbert Anchovy | 19/04/2022 |
See Carn Sian. Great walking on cropped grass. Met Barbara at top. Characterful Hills. A sense of ancient history. | Campbell Singer | 07/11/2021 |
From the south east. Delightful walk up the grassy path to ancient structures. Huge views. | Barbara Singer | 07/11/2021 |
A traverse of the Preseli Hills, starting from the car park at the top of the pass (SN 075 322). West up to Cerrig Lladron first, then back to the pass and east along the ridge to Foel Cwmcerwyn (previously bagged as a Marilyn in 2018, today as a Dewey), then on to Carn Sian, Carn Menyn (nice scramble to summit), and the fort at Foel Drygarn. Then direct route back to the car. 22.5km with 700m ascent in 5h40m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 08/08/2021 |

Clear path from east. On to Carn Menyn and Carn Sian. | Arbie | 18/09/2017 |
From Carn Sian I crossed the main ridge path to pay Carn Bica a visit. It's then a gentle descent and climb on the ridge path, saving Carn Menyn for later. Towards the end of some woods I veered left onto a wide grass path that leads up through earthworks and rocks up to the trig column. | Amplifier | 08/05/2017 |
A run up from the South East also took in Carn Menyn. Summit marked by ground close to trig. Windy on top. | isabelle | 05/04/2016 |
