Tarmachan Ridge walk. always a treat.hils13/06/2024
4th of a/c round of 6 simms from Ben Lawers NTS car park. Memo to fellow simm and tump baggers: the well trodden path does not go over the summit, making it easy to miss.Topographer5718/05/2024
9.4 miles 2925ft walk, start at Tarmachan Ridge carpark to Meall Nan Tarmachan, Meall Garbh, Beinn Nan Eachan and Creag Na Caillich.stephenbuda15/09/2023

10 hills today, should have been 11, but I didn't cross the deer fence. From Ben Lawers car park (£3). Meall nan Tarmachan S Top, Meall nan Tarmachan, Meall Garbh, Beinn nan Eachan E Top, Beinn nan Eachan, Creag na Caillich, all on Munro motorway. Then went NW on faint animal track to Meall Ton Eich, and back to .796 Creag na Caillich W Top, no real path but grassy hillside, no heather so easy going. Straight down to Beallach & up Meall Dhuin Croisg E Top & Meall Dhuin Croisg. Back to Beallach trying to avoid Crags. SE then to pick up path to Dam. Made the effort to climb Meall Liath on walk out but failed to cross deer fence so missed it by about 20m. There was a ladder stile too. 21km, 1100m climb 10/11 hills un sunshine with friends. Not too bad.Lynnebe19/07/2023
First Munro in six weeks. Today I did the Tarmachan Ridge, with Karen Webber and Mark Atkins on an OMC Meet at the club cottage. We headed west along the track before gaining the ridge and return east along the ridge. The strong westerly wind buffeted us a few times and the heavy showers were unpleasant. Summits in order; 1) Creag na Caillich, 914m, Ex Munro Top 2) Beinn nan Eachan, 1000m, Munro Top 3) Meall Garbh, 1026m, Munro Top 4) Meall nan Tarmachan, 1043m, Munro 5) Meall nan Tarmachan South Top, 921m, Munro Topchillyman801/07/2023

Parked at the NTS car park, for a revisit to the Meall nan Tarmachan ridge, last walked in 1991. Route followed the popular route from E to W, visiting Meall nan Tarmachan S Top, Meall nan Tarmachan, Meall Garbh (and its scramble down) (1026.7), Beinn nan Eachan E Top, Beinn nan Eachan and Creag na Caillich. Then rather than backtracking to the col and down to the quarry, I carried on along the smaller path right to the end of the ridge and down to the lower Land Rover track, to follow it back to the NTS car park, with a small diversion to bag Meall Liath on the way. A 16km walk with over 1100m of ascent, taking 6h 20m, with sadly little in the way of views due to the misty conditions.silveracorn_alan22/08/2022

#6 of 7 from Lairig an Lochain road summit. Descended NW a short way then care in locating N ridge in rain and poor visibility. A P30.1m 'Deleted' Munro Top with absolutely no path to it although just a short diversion.RHW05/06/2021
Continuation of the Tarmachan, the 'bad step' wasn't too bad despite the weather.DanMaisieBex27/10/2020

A cracking walk today. Very clear views. Meall nan Tarmachan plus 4 other tops (SE top, Meall Garbh, Beinn nan Eachan and Cread na Caillich). Discovered after Meall Garbh that the rocky scramble off there was avoidable by going down the Grassy slope – never mind. Just over 5 hours.tsharp17/09/2019
