Beinn Choradail and Hecla circuit. Parked in small off road area by bridge just S of memorial. Started on track at N end of Loch Dobhrain and continued up Gleann Dorchaidh to reach Bealach Sheiliosdail. From here climbed to summit of Beinn Choradail, descended under impressive cliffes and climbed to Hecla. Continued to Beinn na Laire and contoured to W ridge of Hecla. Descent to Tobha Mor via Na Creagan and Thatharsal and some road walking back to car. Hot and sunny, great views.RobertP12/06/2023
from track end by Loch Dobhrain, contoured round shoulder of Beinn Mhor's NW ridge, up Glen Dorchay, L to col, then NW ridge and round SW side of crags and up to top. Afterwards to Hecla.IanHHill31/05/2023

From Hecla with CM. Up and down at the bealach before the ascent to this splendid summit. Descended to the bealach and then a traverse to Coire Ruadail before a direct walk back to the car at 820388. Just under 10 miles and well under 8 hours. Some evidence of tracks north of Hecla.bolton06/09/2022
Parked at Bards Memorial, north on road then up Peat Road and across wet moor and direct to summit. Great viewpoint. Down to bealach with HeclaCoinneach06/09/2022
From start of track at NF767346, E along track to end, continuing on less distinct tracks to peat diggings and loch at NF778339, then W around Maola Breac and into Gleann Dorchaidh, SW to Bealach Heileasdail, then NE around and between crags to Fèith Bhealach and N to summit of Beinn Choradail, descending W then NW passing S of Maoladh nam Fitheach to Glendorchay River, crossed the river, then picked up outward route back to start (4h45m)kdbennett25/08/2022
A pleasant descent from Beinn Mhor to Bealach Heileasdail then a NE diagonal line up to Feith-Bhealach and the summit. Descended NW on grass. Much easier than expected on a hot, sunny day. Solo.Dangerous Dave03/06/2022

From memorial along peat road then via Maola Breac steeply to summit. Onto Hecla. Mostly fine clear occasional snow squallN.Morters06/05/2021
Beinn Mhor must be one of the UK's best hills; just superb. Easy going on a decent path after the bogs, a narrow summit ridge and jaw-dropping views. What more could you want? On to Beinn Choradail, dodging many small crags on the way down, then an easy climb up a steep grassy rake to Feith Bealach and steep up to the top. Back S a short way, then the easy descent NW on steep, dry grass. The bealach with Thacla is a pain in the bum, many outcrops to weave around. Easy climb up Thacla, steep, obvious route in clear weather. The walk out was a bit of a character forming route march to beat sunset and failed. Correct route to the larger lochan but missed the track to Mill Croft in the dark. B*gger...Gill14/10/2020
Superb traverse of S Uist's Big Three. Excellent weather. Started from Water Works. Beinn Mhor, Beinn Choradail & Thacla.ger04/10/2019
From Beinn Mhor via Bealach Sheiliosdail. On to Thecla.jonglew10/08/2018
Not too hard in from main road but worsening weather meant a change of plan to asnsend to the top from east, giving a steeper climb in wet and very windy conditions. The last of our Uist hills complete!dandaran04/08/2018
With Beinn Mhor and Heclanickywood110/06/2018

From Snishival via Glen Dorchaidh, slow going across the bog and long heather. A steep hill. Views from Mull to Tiree to St Kilda. Back down steeply but safely to Heileisdail col then along the NE face of Beinn Mhor onto its NW ridge.Topographer5721/09/2017

With: hb; Followed David Broom on ascent from bealach Heileasdail through crags. Easy ascent to summit cairn but tricky navigation off via E ridge then via gully and traverse down to Bealach Uisinis.Ian Baines13/05/2016

From Loch Sgioport via Hecla. Col between Hecla and BC quite complex with several ups and downs. Ascent on steep but straightforward grassy slopes round south side of summit avoiding summit crags. Views amazing down to Jura, Coll, Tiree and Colonsay. Minch azure blue. Glorios day. Long, long out to Sniseabhal. Tough going.Campbell Singer10/04/2016
With Mora, from the waterworks access road at nf771322BLACKHILL22/05/2015
Dropped off at Lasgair, Lochboisdale. Ascended Beinn Ruigh Choinnich, Triuirebheinn, Stulabhal, Airneabhal, crossed east flank of Trinneabhal and descended to be picked up at road end. Dropped off at road end on north side of Loch Aineort. Ascended Beinn Mhor, Beinn Choradail, Hecla and descended to Loch Sgioport. Amazing travesrse - thanks for the lift across Loch Aineort btw. Would be good to use a bike or kayak for this also.raffemeister15/04/2015
Completed alongwith Beinn Mhor and Hecla. Climb out of bealach below Beinn Mhor tiring, although nice easy walk once ridge gained. Good views to north, no views to south due to cloud.quadbarrel10/04/2015

W Jenx from Beinn Mhor! Via Bealach Haileasdhail and rocky steps to steep climb via airy grassy rakes to summit plateau. After top best descent is back SW 50m and steep grass slopes direct to Hecla, not as some describe down water washed and loose gully.nordicstar14/04/2012

From Beinn Mhor.It was then back along the ridge for about a km to a ridge could be taken NE to the col. From there there was a grass ramp below vertical rock which lead very steeply to the top.A very shapely summit which felt higher than its actual heightgaryhoney08/08/2004
Parked on road near Sniebal. Helen McLaren and 2 others were already there. They made for B Mhor. I went east over wet swamp, lumpy peat and rough grasses. Beyond old fence posts, straight up RP and a final very steep grass clamber to turn rocky tower to the right and a rocky groove led to top. 12.50. to Hecla.arranc03/08/2001
