Up from the SE.robertphillips19/06/2023
From beach at Tangasdale following Hebridean Way up to near the bealach then up to the summit. Down via the Hebridean Way to near the Vatersay causeway. The route is nicer and easier to follow from the North and makes a better ascent.prwild18/06/2023
Bike from Castlebay, walking from where Hebridean Way leaves the road (NL641976), following post-marked HW to a high point at NL639985 (actual line differs from map) at 170m, then N up to summit on straightforward slopes, return same way (1h40m)kdbennett18/06/2023
From south along hebridean way easy walking especially as ground very dry. Then Left path and took direct line to summit. Great views this evening with ferry waiting for morning departure.cjo18/06/2023
Round of Barra Marilyns by hired bike on a nice sunny day. From SW via hikers track. Amazin number of Golden Plovers calling on summit. Awesome views to North.davechaffey18/06/2023
From Tangasdle/phone box. Over the dunes on the Hebridean Way followed to high point then short pull to summit. Dave and Jill on a very hot afternoon.N.Morters15/06/2023
Good parking by old phone box. Across the dunes then north of Loch na Doirlinn. Followed Hebridean Way posts almost to summit. Last hill of the day with Jil & Nigel.Dangerous Dave15/06/2023
A lovely walk from the memorial CP to the SE. An initial couple of barbed fences are the only hazard, but these have lowered wire or gaps in places.summitter10/06/2023
First section of the Hebridean Way when starting from Vatersay Community Hall. Grand views of the surrounding islands and beaches, if wet underfoot. Route sometimes faint between markers.neimcv10/05/2022
From the war memorial on the road to Vatersay. Straight up over the false top. Breezy, good viewpoint.iangalbraith08/09/2021
Birth day hill - just to get warmed up for the Island Bagging trip later that week. walked to Vatersay South Beach and climbed up and over this one to get back to Castlebay.tallblond05/09/2021
Day 1 of the Hebridean Way. A short diversion off the route.clivevilla30/05/2019
Last hill climbed during a week over on Barra, so a touch of sadness heading off it and down to Castlebay once again. Got to see the Vatersay Boys in the evening though so it turned out to be a super high spirited end to my time out west.Twice Shy10/08/2018
Third hill on a bus walk from Vatersay back to Castlebay, over Beinn Chuidhir, via Bagh a'Deas and Bagh a'Bhatersaigh beaches and the cafe. Over Heiseabhal Beag and Heiseabhal Mor, then the W coast path and the causeway. Up the road a short way to reach a gate and the way-marked Hebridean Way, NW on a track at first, then NE to the bealach, leaving the markers and then up the SW ridge. Good views. Backtrack to the bealach, then a steep grassy descent NE, heading into an easy gully on short grass. Then SE to cross a small stream below the phone mast. Down over the corner of a BWF on a novel stile made of telegraph pole steps, to pick up the mast track to the road back to Castlebay.Gill07/08/2018

My day doing Hebridean way has been hijacked by these hills! The way goes right beside this one.nickywood107/06/2018
Approach from memorial to SE. Visited many rocky high points in summit region. In ascent/descent gentle angled rocky slabs provide pleasant walking. Beware cairn, on little hill, @ NL6438798469, not very well built - stones loose/unstable.ger22/05/2018
Rough walk from war memorial parking to W. Sunny and clear.Thearlaichdubh22/05/2018

On a wet and very windy day. From the war memorial to the SE. Just over 90 minute walk and over 2 fences but easy enough. With CM.bolton20/05/2018
Parked at war memorial. Straight up. Gale force SSW’ly wind, rain. With PM.CJM20/05/2018
Starting from the Tangasdale phone box at around NL649001 we followed the waymarks which gave access to the gates and bridge leading to the open land. We then lost them where their route and the notes we were following diverged. Near to Dun Ban a stile permitted access to the shore and another allowed us to proceed up the hill to the E of the obvious stream. We returned much the same waym0jla27/04/2018
Walked from Castlebay to war memorial and up ridge crossing 2 barbed wire fences. Straightforward.trimarc212/10/2017
From the wee carpark by the war memorial. Easy walking to the top, just 2 barbed wire fences but easily negotiated.AndrewFinnimore03/07/2017
