Parked at end of access road. No one in at cottage so just made my way up.moorsman25/04/2024
5th and final hill of the day. After Rea Cliffe. I parked up in a small car park at one side of Ladderidge and headed over the main road to the other side of the country park past the main car par and then a route through the park up to City road and then via a track with electrified tape across in two places and then summit field. You can tell cows have come this way before. Easy walk up to grassy knoll. Was challenged on return to track near Great Longsdon so could not immediately continue on track to canal path but after about 200m I took route down through field scrambled down wooded embankment and then retraced route to track across canal feeder and then followed this back to the country park, main road and then the start. Amazing rainbow at the end and some nice examples of aquatic plants in the canal feeder.Dazingdale18/03/2023

No-one in at Sycamore Cottage to grant permission, but a nosy neighbour saw me walking down the drive and immediately jumped in his car to drive down and challenge me.Nick Canute17/04/2022
Asked permission at Sycamore Cottage, which was granted by a polite old gent who even recommended some other nearby spots with good views!RoguePulsar15/12/2020
One of those hills that looks like nothing, until you're looking at the panorama from the summit. knocked at Sycamores to ask permission but no answer so went up anyway.Wycombe Wanderer04/11/2020
Parked on Devils Lane to the west. Went up a driveway towards the obvious top and there was a stile just beyond the house suggesting a row. That was what I was going to say if anybody asked me anyway.clivevilla26/05/2020
3 of 6 on 23 mile bike ride. Was preparing to meet farmer or wife when I reached sycamore cottage but no one around quick ride up lane before ditching bike at step into field. 5 minutes at summitThe-Z-Man08/01/2020

Parked at and chatted to gent at Sycamore Cott. Said I was the 5th or 6th person in a year.. we had a good natter about why his hill was attractive to us etc. Very nice fellow. Top is over stile and in open field. Not convinced the track is as high as the field.. from the field it certainly looks the highest point.stig_nest17/04/2017
Five Tump walk around Leek taking in Longsdon Hill, Hillswood Hill, Kniveden Hill, Revedge Hill and Ferny Hill. Ascended from the east via gap in forest then through fields - not particularly recommended. Agree highest point is on lane between farms. Descended north back into valley via track marked on 1:25000 - better!davidpettit8404/03/2017
Accessed via private stile at end of drive to Sycamore Cottage - initially waved away by owner but husband came out and gave me permission after explanationMark Sims14/01/2017
From Devil's Lane. Parked outside ungalow. Resident was very helpful and charming. Intrigued by hill bagging!Campbell Singer03/11/2016
By car up City Lane. Stepped out on high point between posh house and farm near end of lane. Solo.David Evans16/10/2016
Drove up the private road (City Lane) from the A53 to the high point between farms, took a reading. The GR given refers to a 240m contour that lies to the SW in field, maybe lower?Aye Jimmy27/03/2016
Parked outside smart farms at 961552. Passed some private signs to mid-field track.GordonAdshead02/07/2014
