From Pilley, into the woods at the T junction, then followed the right hand fork which led to a wooden double gate. Over this, then across the grass pasture to the summit, which is near the hedge line - the relief shown on the OS map app is incorrect.Wheelsy16/02/2024
Staying on campsite to nth, used footpaths, bridleways and public highways to Pilley. Access to summit as per many others.Meanderer09/09/2023

Potter Holes Hill from GR: SE 33649 00130. AS you enter wood ignore the path that forks left, instead take the track and in 50 metres there are two double wooden gates into field.ronaldo33319/01/2020

Summit is crossed by a hedgerow and a gate is by eye the highest point. Deceptively hidden from view, accessed by a pleasant short walk through a small woodland, or a few metres from a nearby road. Access is via 2 wooden field gates. Views across to nearby Hoyland and up towards the Peak Park in the north west.Peter_wth18/06/2016
3rd hill of four today with Lexi Rue, my partner's Labradoodle on a route from Dodworth to Elsecar station via Champany hill and then from Stainsborough castle down to Pilley and easily up onto the Timberland trail, we climbed over a fence and went directly up through the long grass to the summit near the gate. Descent on a heading NE back into Potter holes plantation, pushing through hawthorn to a track an we continued to follow the Timberland trail to the main road.Dazingdale29/05/2016
Easy from N via gate and open rough grass, but no longer a Tump as not enough dropChris Pearson13/08/2015

All that effort - and avoiding the heavy police presence - to find it has been unclassified.Martin R23/11/2014
contours and 180m spot height on 25k map erroneous, estimate height at gate in hedge SK 3393 9994 to be 165m. Tump deleted and hill is Unclassified November 2014George Gradwell20/11/2014
Made mistake of parking in Gladman Park industrial estate, resulting in a lot of faffing. Out of the back, around houses into wood, eventually got into grassy field. Gentle rise for some 200m to highest point near open gate in hedge.Aye Jimmy21/04/2014
Parked at the road junction to the south of Pilley village. Plenty of roadside parking. A number of tracks from here leads to the top of the wood. You need to negotiate a wire fence though from this direction.moorsman14/04/2014
