SMC donalds walk. Start at Big Water of Fleet Viaduct. When exiting the forest followed an ATV track to cross a wooden bridge before heading up to Knee of Cairnsmore. Descent above the Lodge fairly awful going down steep long dry grassy slopes, otherwise nice walk. Was 13 miles per Garmin, not 19km as per the book description.JulieB20/04/2024
A walk up from the car park to the summit via the tourist track in search of snow bunting off which there were none. Overcast and cold with mist from 1800 feet, thick on summit.3 kinnears01/02/2024

Made my first foray into Dumfries and Galloway this weekend. Took the caravan to Southerness with Stuart Cook also bringing his and Chris & Heather Brisbane in their family's Mazada Bongo. Today I went over to Newton Stewart, to bag the most southerly hill of the main four hill lists (Munros, Corbetts, Grahams and Donalds) Cairnsmore of Fleet (711m) a Donald and a Graham. Also included the nearby Donald Tops of Meikle Mullytaggart (612m) and Knee of Cairnsmore (656m), 06:04hrs all in. Seen some goats on the ridge, the Isle of Man and Alisa Craig.chillyman801/08/2020

ACW circuit of the Knee, Cairnsmore and Meikle Mulltaggart from the CP near Greddoch Bridge. Excellent paths and fairly easy goping on the rising traverse from the main hill path to the Knee. Visited the cairn and the higher rock summit by the pool, while being blown sideways by an easterly whipping over the escarpment edge. Descending the hill path with the sun setting over the Cree was delightful.Nick Down115/11/2019
