Parked at Smeardon Down car park at 52180 77888, along the track. It was a firing day and the red flag was just beyond the summit. Rather unnerving to be hillbagging with machine gun fire going on. | clivevilla | 23/05/2024 |

From Roos Tor, walked NE to Stone Circle and ascended White Tor from the SE | matthewdomhof | 20/07/2020 |

From Cudliptown via Stephen's Grave, back down N to Wapsworthy then SW along delightful mill leat from Hill Bridge. My 1500th Tump. | agentmancuso | 02/07/2019 |
With Jo, from Smeardon Down car park on a lovely, sunny, warm evening with good visibility. | amblerbob | 11/04/2019 |
Out of water and no streams for an hour to come yet on this too hot afternoon during my 100 tors in 25 hours outing. Luckily Flook was delighted to find a rare bog to quench his thirst. I slowed to a desert survival walking pace to get through to the cool of evening. Ironic in that on my last attempt on this outing around here driving rain and flooded torrents were the biggest problem. | Chris Pearson | 22/07/2018 |
Last in a round of 4 Dartmoor tors. Walked over from Roos Tor, then return to car and drive round for South Hessary Tor. | jonglew | 25/06/2018 |
From cp on lane to sw | Moorponder | 25/06/2018 |
Triangular tor with YD2 straightforward ascent. Summit are includes stone wind shelters, ancient fortification, modern army bunker and flagpole. Cool, windy and cloudy. Beware the bog to the east on a direct line from Great Mis Tor. | Denise | 09/04/2017 |
A poor route from the SE across floating bog. Nice hill top however with old fortifications. High point an easily climbed angular rock outcrop. Rock is a dark iron rich igneous material, very different to the granite of the tors to the E.

Limited parking at the end of the public road running SE from Cudlipptown (At a height of 944ft) . From here an easy bridleway runs along a lane before passing through a field. Immediately after leaving this field through a gate you can follow a path directly up to the summit via the first set of tors. | moorsman | 20/08/2014 |
RAIN & WIND - very wet now and about to get a whole lot wetter as we waded the fast rising steams eastwards -Terry alarmed having watched a cow becoming submerged ahead of us. Decided to pack in our big run and farce as we phoned ahead to the Warren Inn to reschedule our booked meal -with numb hands no-one could open the plastic zip bag to read out the credit card nos they insisted they wanted. John, ex-Para told us that we were having an easy time really as in such awful conditions in army training they would be tasked to dig a hole at times like this and defend it for 3 days! | Chris Pearson | 03/05/2014 |
With Darren. White Tor 400m top from church at Peter Tavy – nice tack and short cropped grass – rain stopped, dry – pleasant – big views.
Boulters Tor on return from above – small prow climbed onto.
Brent Tor – Hump – the hill with a church on top – unusual and touristy.
Drove to Cornwall – had to use official campsite near Redruth – own level pitch – good showers – but £18 in total !!- | Chris Pearson | 07/08/2010 |
Final English 400m TOP, nice scrambly 2m tor at rock-strewn summit. | RHW | 03/05/2010 |
