Hardest part was crossing the road to get in to the cemetery | PaulOnFoot | 24/07/2024 |
As a Wigan rugby league fan it really hurt me to climb this hill. Parked outside a strange wooden goods shop on main road as cemetary was still closed early morning. | Minto | 01/07/2023 |
Parked in the crem. and wandered around on the paved tracks to the HP which my GPS places on an unused patch of grass in a fairly over grown part of the cemetery. | ytfckent | 22/04/2023 |
Walked along road from Ore after North’s Seat | trimarc2 | 20/01/2023 |
A lift to Hastings for my daughter to spend time with one of her friends provided me with an opportunity to sample this and nearby North's Seat tops. Slightly odd walking round a cemetery seeking out the high point, glad I didn't have to explain myself! | JOHNS | 27/02/2022 |
Crowhurst Circular with Blackhorse Hill: a grim, gothic cemetery | PhilipChaston | 18/12/2021 |
Parked in cemetery car park and followed paths to HP which seemed to be just off path. | PeterD | 29/11/2021 |
Solo. From North's Seat. Sunny & clear. Tricky to locate exact highpoint amongst graves. Onwards along B2093 & A2100 to Blackhorse Hill. | millionmts | 13/08/2021 |
Parked in main car park. Doesn't seem to be any physical barrier to access after 4:30pm. | PGCE | 24/11/2020 |
The gates close at 4.30. I wouldn’t fancy being locked in. Distinctly Gothic atmosphere. Funeral in progress.as I passed by. | Campbell Singer | 14/10/2020 |
Continuation of walk from Hastings Old Town via North’s Seat. Navigated to GR and it seems fairly obvious where it crests out. | jedthehumanoid | 02/02/2020 |
Hill summit is at the very top of the main road which I also live off, so I enjoyed a pleasant 4 mile stroll from home up the hill and back again, to bag the summit. | Sussexman | 10/02/2019 |
Ore - St Helen's - North's Seat - Fairlight Glen - East Hill - Ore | Mark Jackson | 05/05/2018 |
Parking in cemetery car park. Benchmark on entrance wall post. | jonglew | 19/04/2018 |
Cemetery car park then wandered up to HP. | clivevilla | 18/04/2018 |
Parked in the cemetery and then did a circular walk taking in the high point. No views as very foggy but appropriately spooky in the mist. | JohRvs | 30/12/2016 |
Ore circular. Steady suburban climb from the station that was longer than anticipated. | Smudge | 06/02/2016 |
Level area: HP indeterminate but near path junction as per spot height | RHW | 27/06/2015 |
Large cemetery spread over the ridge with high point among the graves. View across the town and out to sea. Open gateway allowed access on foot at 4.45pm despite website and sign saying cemetery grounds close at 4.30pm. Came across the following website when researching the cemetery: BillionGraves is a free website to look up headstone photos from around the world. Volunteers use Smartphones to take GPS tagged photos of headstones. No entries for St Helen's | Chris Pearson | 04/03/2015 |
