With John from small parking area off the B863 , next to the bridge over Allt Gleann a' Chaolais. Took stalker's path up Stob Coire Sgoilte, and up onto the Garbh Bheinn Summit. Many cairns up there so we visited each one for different views - Nevis and the CMD Arete clear over the central Mamores to the North and the notched ridge, Aonach Eagach looking ominous to the south, with the Pap of Glencoe standing watch over Loch Leven to the west. Returned back down to the bealach between the corbett and Stob Coire Sgoilte and had a wee snack break admiring the views over Loch Leven towards the Mamores. Blue Skies, with a cool breeze at the top. Total time 3h 17min including time at the summit and the snack break on the way down.mproudfoot01/06/2024
From WNW - Walkhighlands route. Bear left at small cairn at NN 1436 6071. When path steepens approx. NN 158603 - path becomes increasingly stony and erroded. Some steep scree, one very minor scramble. Great walkcarole engel02/04/2024

From the layby at 140607, west side of the bridge. A path is on the east side of the bridge, boggy at first but steep and straightforward later. Windy ascending, started to rain on top and got drenched on the return. 4 hours 10 minutes. With CM.bolton19/09/2023
Very strong winds on ascent, heavy rain on descent. Same route as Notlob. With PM.CJM19/09/2023
Road between Glen Coe and Kinlochleven closed so had a traffic free road walk from Kinlochleven to the NW ridge path and then down over easy grassy slopes to NE.rhalstead18/06/2023
Solo. Full winter on top but managed to stay out of the gusting south wind until summit was reached.garbo110321/01/2023
Parking at NN 14224 60768. Follow track on left hand bank of the Allt Gleanne a' Chaolais for a short distance to NN 14358 60718 then follow path leading in direction of West ridge of Garbh Bheinn which is followed to the summit.PeteF23/10/2022
fair but cold up South ridge and down west. Nice short sharp ridgeTamCollie18/09/2022
Straight up and down the west ridge path from the lay by by the bridge. Stunning day, stunning views in all directions near and far, spent a good while at the summit soaking it all in.Owen B27/08/2022

The ascent of Garbh Bheinn from Caolasnacon. Parked in the layby just beyond the bridge, followed the track 1km up Gleann a' Chaolais, then direct up a steep grassy slope to the ridge. Then followed the steep and sometimes rocky west ridge to the summit. Visited both the red and white cairns. Returned the same way. Cold wet rain, driven by a strong wind, combined with mist spoilt what would have otherwise been a splendid summit. Only 6.6km there and back, but with 911m ascent and same amount of descent, so took 3h45m.silveracorn_alan29/05/2022
Time includes walking from Kinlochleven to meet Squiz half-way up Devil’s Staircase, then back to small reservoir and then up hill. Lovely day earlier, overcast with spots of rain later. From E side out and back. Motorbike event happening. Rounsfell29/04/2022
Up the ridge from the bridge. Very strong winds on summit and descent made for an interesting time 'tacking' on the zig-zags.Minto20/09/2021
Climbed with Tim on a lovely Sat evening after setting up camp at the Red Squirrel. Came back down to meet others from DMC in the first trip after months of lockdown, campfire at the Red Squirrelamcculloch22/05/2021

Wish I’d climbed this one before now, clear trail up and dry underfoot once last the initial rocky outcrop. Great views all the way from Caolasnacon, stunning all round from the top. Sunshine and showers although settled, clear and warm for most part. With Ken. 5 1/2 hrs inc photos and lunch(es).niallp16/06/2019

Second attempt after being defeated previous day by wind - not helped by mixture of ice and slush on lower slopes. From near Coalasnacon followed stream for about a kilometre to obvious grassy line up to ridge increasingly snowy as ascended ridge but in quite good condition higher up and only one tricky point when I got off the line and had to remake the ridge. A good short day.dickscroop01/01/2018
During a fairly wet week in Fort Bill with Shaky & Smithy. Unable to park in the usual spots near Caolasnacon, we drove about 3km further on to a layby at 172616. Tempted by an apparently feasible line on to what might be viewed as the hill's NNE rib, we quickly got mired on some very steep & slippery ground amongst deciduous trees. Still wet & steep further up but with views opening up, the view on suddenly reaching the top was quite stunning in every direction. Descended the WNW ridge but it was so slippery & loose that to properly appreciate the view along Loch Leven meant stopping which we did frequently. Shaky spent most of the descent on his backside. A nasty & slightly dangerous walk back along the B863 with very little room on the verge & various blind bends to the car. Great hill even if it would have been better done after a dry spell.NotReallyABagger13/09/2017

48th – Solo. From Glencoe, take path through to B863, walk along road to Caolasnacon, then traverse Corbett West – East, gain WHW to finish in Kinlochleven. Snowline at about 650m, dry clear day with any cloud above summit, wind picked up on summit.RGibbs14/02/2017
Dark on summit at 5 - footprints in snow helped me down. Nasty rock step above Kinlochleven avoided to R.davechaffey09/11/2016
Up & back down same route from B863. On own.MorecambeMonkey31/10/2016
Very cloudy at approx 750m. Lots of scree type rock, wore gloves on descent for protection. Confusing paths at top. No views what-so-ever. Path lower down was very boggy and water logged.Jhimmy18/10/2016
From Caolasnacon, track up glen then left and up to join ridge at 400m. Staircase to 550m then path becomes worn out and slippery. Gendarme 80m below summit passed on north side. Back all the way down ridge, views over Lochs Leven and Linnhe.Topographer5713/10/2015
Birthday mountain, wild and complete with Golden Eagle. Up from Caolasnacon, fine route described in SMC Corbetts guide, down to Kinlochleven- a real back-country feel to this part. Had some River Leven ale and watched climbers in Ice Factory while my brother retrieved the car- well it was my birthday!pwheeler26/05/2015
I left home in Surrey at 3.50am and arrived at the car park near Caolasnacon, after 20minutes gritting ready I took to the hill at 12.50pm. I took the standard route up on a good track and was up and down in around 4hrs 30 minutes. The sun was roasting but the views were outstanding. First of four days in the Highlands.Peterb22/04/2015
