I walked between Rookley and Shorwell, taking in Rookley Hill, Berry Hill and the two Chillerton Down summits. This one was a pleasant grassy whaleback but the path to the south was rarely walked and overgrown; best to stick with the more popular path to the north | Colin Crawford | 24/06/2024 |
Pretty much as far away from the sea in all directions (and therefore the best bits) as you can get on the IOW. -not something the large holiday park here in Rookley advertises - although they have dug out a lake as compensation. They also fail to highlight that it's alongside a main road - called.. Main Road. You can learn a lot from looking at a map. Average bagger time stop off here probably 10 mins max for this low hill - before off to better things. | Chris Pearson | 09/06/2024 |
