13.1 mile circular from Brockhoperig. Along the Ettrick valley road to its end then following signs to Bodesbeck Law and Ettrick circular. Up the track through the forest and along grassy trail to Bodesbeck Law's lovely summit. We then followed an ATV trail all the way along to ridge to Nowtrig Head, Mid Rig, Bell Craig, Andrewhinney Hill, Trowgrain Middle and Herman Law. We descended on grassy terrain south-east and followed bits of ATV track onto the grassy lumps of Sandtrae Knowe and Cossars Hill descending to the car. (There is a barbed wire fence to cross to get back to the road but the wire has been pulled down to make it easier to cross). 774m ascent. We saw 3 people on this warm sunny day with a nice breeze. Great views; especially north-west towards the Saddle Yokes, White Coomb and Lochcraig Head.DanTrig19/05/2024

Croft Head, Loch Fell, Wind Fell, Hopetoun Craig, Ettrick Pen, Bodesbeck Law, White Shank, Smidhope Hill and Capel Fell from Selcothhummusg19/02/2024
From White Shank on route to Pot Law. 10th in clockwise circuit of the Ettrick Hills. Thought I would cut off corner as main track heads east but it was pretty rough ground and probably didn't save much time. Once back on the main grassy track heading NNW it was easy going again up to summit area which had a bit of rock at the top which made a nice change.Jossker16/10/2023

Then hiked up to Herman Law, followed by Trowgrain Middle and Andrewhinney Hill. A shower came in as I approached Andrewhinney Hill. But dry mostof the day. Continued SW over Bell Craig, Mid Rig then Bodesveck Law. I descended back to the car.chillyman807/05/2022
Final hill before I retrace my steps back to Andrewhinny Hill. Whole walk from Grey Mare Tails taking in whole ridge and back took 5hr 28mins. Stopped here for an hour enjoying the view, munching sarnies, and watching the traffic being turned back as the A708 was shut for the day! Company: Soloiandesbottes04/10/2021
Part of 15 mile Moffat Dale ridge walk, from Herman Law to Bodesbeck Law. 3500ft ascent. Room for two cars in lay-by in woods at 2026 1609. Followed fence line along tops, all the way, so intermittent low cloud not a problem. See Herman Law for details.Toby-and-Dion26/06/2021

From White Shank. Only 101m prominence but feels well and truly a hill in its own right - especially this way round. Was good thinking walking this circuit clockwise to get sun and wind behind me. On to Nowtrig head.Wycombe Wanderer20/04/2019

Parked at the end of the Ettrickdale road and took the forest track signed 'Ettrick Horseshoe and Bodesbeck Law' onto the ridge. Then Bodesbeck Law - Nowtgrain Head - Mid Rig (DT) - Bell Craig - Andrewhinny Hill - Mid Rig - Trowgrain Middle (sadly, the unremarkable dome west of the fence seems to be slightly higher than the splendid cairn by the fence) - Herman Law - Sandtrae Knowe - Cossars Hill and back by the single track road. A glorious day with views across both Moffatdale and Ettrickdale throughout the ridge walk.Nick Down117/06/2017
