Train to Laxey then to Snaefell. Bagged summit then down to BLack HUt and out to North Barrule over Clagh Ouyr and Beinn Rein. Returned to former then picked up path to row round Slieau Lhean and on back to LaxeySS12/09/2023
A direct ascent from Ramsey, using the Elfin Glen then a rough route up to the hill. It gets easier as you gain height. Second visitColin Crawford05/09/2023

Top class ridge walk out to this fine peak in calm blue skies conditions with Jon and Chris.Alex C09/12/2021
Parked at Black Hut and followed an initially boggy path which soon climbed steeply to summit of Clagh Ouyr. Continued NE across more boggy ground to Beinn Rein then on to N Barrule. Warm sunny day. With RO.wombourne15/09/2021
8 mile there-and-back walk from Black Hut car park, climbed steeply up wet path to Snaefell summit then returned to car park and followed great ridge over Clagh Ouyr, Beinn Rein and North Barrule, then back same way to car. Amazing views today of Scotland: Galloway Hills, you could easily see Merrick, Cairnsmore of Fleet, Corserine, Cairnsmore of Carsphairn and Criffel. England: Forest of Bowland and Lake District, you could easily see Black Combe. Northern Ireland: Antrim mountains and Mourne mountains you could easily see Slieve Donard, Slieve Commedagh and Slieve Binnian. Wales: you could see Anglesey Holyhead Mountain and Ireland: you could just make out the Irish coast not to mention the whole of the Isle of Man. Afterwards drove around to and bagged Carraghan, Beinn-Y-Phott and Mullagh Ouyr. A few people about.DanTrig20/10/2019

From Churchtown I took the Millennium Way to the foot of Snaefell. Then I headed across to the mountain road and over to Snaefell Mine before returning via Clagh Ouyr, Beinn Rein and North Barrule before returning via the Brookdale Plantation and Glen Auldyn. Unfortunately in cloud here today.meltdiceburg16/04/2019
Morning walk in the snow - a few icy patches around. Took a wide (incorrect?) route up Clagh Ouyr. Very windy on top. Cross-country on the way back in knee deep snow/heather.Boggy bit down by the road - should stick to the path!Jonnyiom02/02/2019

1st of 11 tumps on this, my penultimate day on the Isle of Man on a 43km circular starting from Ballure, climbing up beside Elfin Glen then over the A18 to Parm Mooar, climbing steadily to the summit, getting increasingly steeper the nearer I got, eventually arriving hufffing and panting in the mist at the top with its Trig pillar and outcrop. I recorded 565m @ SC 44281 90928, moments later a runner in shorts with his dog scramble up to the top from the other side. I continued on the ridge SW in misty conditions towards Beinn Rein...Dazingdale21/07/2018
Mountain Box car park at 410897 - Up Clagh Ouyr & Beinn Reinn, & then continued NE on good path along ridge to trig point & summit. Returned over Beinn Rein & then made way down to Mountain Box & car. (PM)gerrybowes07/02/2018
Last of 3 on this ridge in great conditions. Snow underfoot, no wind. Good views of the Lakes, The Mournes and Galloway. Back to the car at 410898. Just over 2.5 hours and 5.1 miles with GB.bolton07/02/2018
7/7. From a handy parking spot near MS on A18, just SW of Guthrie's Memorial. Easy to cross fence directly opposite, then pathless terrain to summit ridge.PGCE28/09/2017
Best of the Manx hills for its fine, grassy ridge walk- starting at the Black Hut, going over several tops. Others on the ridge continued down to The Hibernian; I'd have done this as a walk from there to Laxey but decided on a more bagging route as I was still recovering from a cold and wanted to be sure. Mainland views improved throughout a fine, sunny day and it was nice to traverse the ridge in both directionspwheeler17/06/2017

North Barrule, Beinn Rein Clagh Ouyr and Snaefell. Cold, clear, windy Easter Saturday with hail and sunshine.Lazylizzie15/04/2017
Up from Ramsey. Took path round Eastern edge of Ballure Plantation and then up slopes of North Barrule, fences are not well maintained so no problems despite no path. Took ridge to Clagh Ouyr, wind was fearsome. Down to Black Hut on A18 to Black Hut. Up slopes to Snaefell. Windy and cloudy on top so took railway track down to bungalow (trains don't run in winter). Down to old mine (boggy and no path) and then followed track to Laxey.tsharp01/01/2016
Started walk on B10 at SC 36588 86296. Walked along Millennium track to a wall across the track. Turned R and followed path to summit of Carraghan. Back down to Millennium track and back towards road. Branched off R on a path to top of Beinn-y Phott. Down on path to B10 at SC 38924 85888. Turned L on A18 to Bungalow. Turned L and up to top of Snaefell, good path. Down to A18 at Black Hut. Vague path. Crossed road and up on path to Clagh Ouyr. Along ridge on path and a section of duck boarding to Beinn Rein and then North Barrule. Continued on path downwards. Eventually lost it and came out at corner of a minor road and track to Park Lewellyn. Cloud down all way until coming down Beinn-y-Phott, Snaefell in cloud but dropped out coming down to Black Hut. High winds most of the day. Good walk.MikeM11/09/2015

Mad March 13. Mountain roads covered in drifted snow. Walked in from Ramsey heading for Snaefell. Up snow bound Elfin Glen, cut into fields to main road. To milestone then onto fell. Footsteps gave relief, blue sky and cold Easterly wind. After an hour from Elfin gained ridge and trig. Cold but magic views. Along ridge towards objective.nordicstar29/03/2013
A long walk from digs in Soulby via Mountain Box. Lots of false summits and only used 2m due to adverse wx conditions. Tore my trousers on way down to Ramsey. Then took bus back to Soulby with Geoff M6PYG.G4OOE23/10/2012

8th of 10 summits visited on a scorching day and i thought one of the most elegant with its white trig and shapely summit. Visited the geocache near the B-17 crash site (white flagpole) afterwards.signyred30/06/2009
