My fifth round of the Lord's Seat Group from Whinlatter to Wythop Mill, this time with Chris. Visited Whinlatter Top, Whinlatter Brown How, Tarbarrel Moss, Ullister Hill, Barf, Lord's Seat, Broom Fell, Widow Hause, Graystones (both summits), Ling Fell, Rivings, and Sale Fell. 20km with 1030m ascent taking 7h20m. Lovely autumn colours and great views across the Solway into Scotland. Glad we did not do Skiddaw, our original choice, as it was stubbornly in cloud all day. | silverwolf_alan | 03/11/2023 |
All very confusing as to where all the tops are on Graystones. So Boo and I just traversed anything that looked like the top of something | Alphaville199 | 29/09/2023 |

TC, EC. From Scawgill Bridge up the relentlessly steep and straight slope. Why did we do it this way round? | TopCat1959 | 30/07/2023 |
Steep ascent from Scawgill Bridge, sometimes on hands and knees. Visited highest point first before realising that this is the Wainwright summit. | peter4lc | 22/06/2023 |
Today myself and Alma Aurea headed to Powter Howe for a circular walk taking in six Wainwright's - Sale Fell, Ling Fell, Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord's Seat and Barf, plus a couple of nearby summits. The weather was very warm and humid but from the forecast it looked like this area should stay clear of any thunderstorms or showers, which it did. However, despite the lower summit heights, the hills are relatively independent and quite steep it turned out to be quite a long day with some hot steep ascents! The walk took about 7.5 hours to cover the 15 mile route. Definitely better views from the Wainwright summit than the actual summit! /D | meltdiceburg | 11/06/2023 |
Walked from Whinlatter Forest visitor center. | Wandelaar | 06/06/2023 |
Walked with Raymond and his group from Head for the Hills. Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord's Seat, Barf and Whinlatter. Drizzle most of the day and only intermittent views unfortunately. Lovely group. | River-Girl | 01/05/2023 |

Day 2 of a big weekend of BGR recce/training, but left the BGR on one side today to explore the Lorton & Wythop fells, starting from Powter How with Barf and going anti-clockwise. Bottled out of Whinlatter as the drizzle got heavier, but it cleared whilst taking in Ullister Hill & Seat How. A grand day out, with plenty of grassy running & a decent amount of bog for Hazel to dash about in. | NumptyDumpty | 05/03/2023 |

With Sarah Evans, showers.

Parked at visitors centre, followed green trail until the point where we continue up to Lords Seat, along ridge line onto Broom Fell and onto Graystones. Went to various cairns as wasn't sure which was true summit. Descended via steep wall path down edge of Darling How Plantation, where felling and forestry work was occurring. Walked up road to Spout Force waterfall car park, following forest track to base of Whinlatter. Slight deviation from route getting onto Whinlatter as we lost the path, but re found it at the top, along ridge line and descended back into forest and to visitors centre. Managed to get back to visitors centre in time for cake and hot choc. | Ruth Mackay | 04/10/2021 |
