3/4 As Nuttall book. Tarrenhendre, Mynydd Rhyd-Galed, Foel y Geifr and Tarren y Gesail. Showers but a dry finish. Lovely waterfalls at start and enjoyable ridge. No time to divert to East Top on ridge as wild wind there.nickywood126/09/2019

12.5 mile circular walk from Abergynolwyn in perfect weather, walked up lane to forest, went out and back to Foel Pandy, continued following lane to end then final pull onto Tarren Y Gesail, followed path down and gained ridge at Foel y Geifr, then carried on to Mynydd Rhyd-Galed East Top and Mynydd Rhyd-Galed, then onto Tarrenhendre from summit followed poles along path back into the forest where the trees have taken over the path, followed forest lanes back to Abergynolwyn, very nice walk with views of Cadair Idris, Diffwys and even Plynlimon.DanTrig27/09/2015

Walked over here on way to Tarren Y Gesail from Mynydd Rhyd-galed. A path in the corner of the plantation takes you through the trees to the col and the long slog up to TYG.Herbert Anchovy31/10/2014
Climbed after Tarren Y Gesail by aiming towards it on a bearing. I lost my compass on the way down. Climbed over a fence and found the summit on the ridge. Descending down the edge of forestry plantation, cutting in to access one of the forestry paths. Very confusing following the fp signs as there were so many trees that were blocking the path. In the end I had to backtrack as I was walking South west instead of the correct track towards Machynlleth. Corrected and eventually arrived late in Machynlleth, having finished a whole week of Walking in Wales, starting in Llangollen, over the Berwyns to Llandrillo, over the Berwyns to llangynog, the berwyns to Llanuwchllyn, the Arans to Dolgellau, Cader Idris to Minffordd hotel and the Final route from there to Machynlleth.Dazingdale09/05/2014
From Tarren y Gesail, picking up water on the way, and then overnighting a little further along the ridge. A lovely warm evening.milimana08/09/2012

On an ascent of the two Tarrenau Nuttalls from Machynlleth station. A very ill-advised route through the forestry after Tarren y Gesail. By the time I emerged here I was sweating buckets and covered in little bits of broken twigs. Yuck. Delighted to regain the open hill!thesweetcheat23/07/2011
Car Park in Abergynolwyn - Path up through woodland/bluebells of Nant Gwernol - Crossed upper footbridge (station footbridge being replaced) - Through forest and up NW ridge to Tarrenhendre - ENE alongside fence, over Mynydd Rhyd-galed & Foel y Geifr, & then headed up to Tarren y Gesail - Returned via Bryn-Eglwys Quarry (JL)gerrybowes11/05/2011
