3rd hill of 7 on a circular from the large car park south of Mynydd Rudry, continuing from Pen Castell Y Van, climbing up through attractive woodland to the B4623 and then climbing through the woodland to reach footpath but then just climbing up through the dense Bracken jungle creating a real workout. It was with relief that i broke through to the top and the pure joy of seeing an open top with a Trig pillar. Continuation to Craig Yr Allt...Dazingdale10/08/2024

From Gwaelod-y-garth over Fynnon-taf footbridge,a rather complicated route through Glan-y-llyn onto the very fine Ridgeway walk. The ridge paths took me over this Marilyn and over the top of Caerphilly Mountain (pt 271) before descending to Caerphilly. 5 h with short lunch stop Grey windy weather, little sun, but good enough to enjoy my Pentyrch-Garth Hill-Caerphilly walk, easily accessed by public transport from Cardiffpwheeler28/04/2012
