Short walk from roadside parking on hill roads.willyross09/02/2024
Parked near the monument and into the wooded area on a path. Nettles and long grass covered the high point, possibly artificially raised. Good views over Scarborough from the monument.LizH07/09/2023
Predictably fine view enhanced by the weather and red berries.Wycombe Wanderer13/10/2022
While at the Gold Cup bike racing meeting - parked at the top, but walked up and down the hill through the day!MrChris198018/09/2022
Drove up the road. Good view from the monument of Scarborough.matty1971b22/08/2022

Great hill with a disappointing top in a scrubby area.clivevilla13/03/2022
Approached through curiously named neighbourhood Weaponness. Found neglected paths up northern slope of Oliverís Mount. Beat our way through the bracken and nettles to emerge at foot of the war memorial. Fun adventure further rewarded with fine view over Scarborough. High point a little less impressive. Box ticked. Easier decent through woods on eastern slope and millionaires housing estate to reach bus stop on A165. With Tiarnán and Geraldine.Pete West18/08/2021
Walked up after Scarborough Castle then down to get bus back to caravan site.NormanW05/07/2021
From Knox Hill via Weaponess Park. Paths zigzagging up the wooded E slope and a road closed to traffic gave a very pleasant approach. Scruffy summit but magnicient view from war memorial on a very clear late afternoon. With Pete. 3 of our 6 tops today were Humps.pwheeler06/06/2021
Shameless drive-by.mrs_ts710/04/2021
Parked by seafront on South Cliff and walked up via roads and paths.Rockdoctor05/04/2021
Parked on seafront and followed roads up to the summit, nice views over Scarborough from monument, the summit was less impressive, cafe is very nice though, descended same way.DanTrig19/10/2020
Drove up to the top, had takeway tea in the car then wandered through the trees to the top and had a look at monumnet. A cold sea fret had come in on the tide, giving murky views.Jake99408/08/2020

2nd of 3 tumps on an 8.5 mi traverse from Scarborough Hosp, climbing Seamer Beacon then following long ridge S, to descend through woodland then caravan park past Mere then a scramble through new plantings near reservoir to reach road then steep fp up to reach road near top, stepping through to reach scrubby summit area. Visited pillar for the great views over Scarborough. Continuation to Knox hills...Dazingdale29/12/2019
Parked by Cafe, good views over ScarboroughM6KIO29/11/2019
Parked by the cafe, wandered over vegetation-covered humps and bumps on the summit - the earth mound to the SW, though artificial, is a convenient de facto summit - and enjoyed the view from the war memorial terrace.Nick Down129/08/2019
With Sal and Sarah while orienteering at White Rosedavechaffey25/08/2019
The view from the war memorial makes up for a very disappointing high point.summitsup25/03/2019
Grim day but a drive to the top, parked at the cafe and explored the summit messy area, then onto the nicer cenotaph and viewpoint down to ScarboroughN.Morters07/03/2019

Made effort to find proper top after many visits since childhood.chriswatson21/01/2019
Drive up. The summit area remains a mess with various bits of furniture and other rubbish dumped there.Clach Liath20/01/2019
The only decision is whether to have the sausage butty at the cafe before or after visiting the 'summit'peebs22/10/2018

Wet, wet, wet - all day! HP either at the war memorial, or muddy cleared ground W of the car park.jonglew12/03/2018
By war memorial with clear views out to sea and harbour lights. Nicely silhouetted by full moon. HP is possibly on adjacent ground a little to the west. Great spot. Evocative line of wreaths.Denise 04/12/2017
Walked up from town visiting Knox Hill on the way. Hard to determine a high point in the scrub and darkness but great views out over the bright lights of Scarborough from the monument.RichardM04/12/2017
Revisit with Smudge.Dugswell203/12/2017
Revisited with Dugswell. Summit patch still a mucky mess.Smudge03/12/2017
In the twilight with Jenx and Bryher. The clearing area has recently been churned up by earthmoving vehicles and looked like something from the Somme. At least the monument area and streetlit views of Scarboro' North and South bays are very good.nordicstar09/09/2017
Lovely twilight views from impressive memorial. Top all messed up by vehicles.jenx09/09/2017
Parked next to the war memorial (great views!) & then a 2min walk along path & then track through woodland to the high point on edge of clearing. (S)gerrybowes02/09/2017
Good walk up from town with bikes always around.lordtonult28/04/2017
From car park, walked around monument and surrounding area.Stormcrow10/04/2017
Drove up the road. Good view from the monument of Scarborough. HP in scrub land near mast. A number of man made piles of stone currently higher but i guess these are going to be used in landscaping the area.PeterD06/04/2017
Drove up with my wife and daughter (it's quite easy this one, isn't it?), wandered around to the likely high spots, before enjoying in the stunning views across Scarborough Bay. Big return for minimal effort!wheresthepath04/04/2017
With K. From south bay seafront in dark. Also enjoyed Scarborough sea front.Ashley19/02/2017
