Ascend from south as stopping in inverekie estate cottage. Hit snow at 550m with herds of deer. Then Continue NW to pictish fort through somevery nice woodland. Encountered some quite deep snow. Then return via forest trials back to start.cjo25/02/2024
From Pattack Falls CP. Followed the Black Wood and Hiil Fort walk. Black Craig and Dun-da-Iamh. With Lisa and Daniel.CJM30/01/2024
1 of 2: From Pattack Falls CP on the A86. Track to just before the comms tower, then blue way marked path. Cold, some sunny spells, surprisingly little snow. We started on the track to the hill fort but decided the re ascent was not worth it so returned for lunch at Black Craig. With Karen.ChrisR05/01/2024
From Feagour on a forest track then the Blackwood Path which goes over the top. The large cairn comes first and is not the high point, the second one is. Then on to Dun da-lamh, a superb hill fort which I didn't know was a Tump until I checked whilst there.NormanW18/12/2023
Parked in a lochside lay-by E of Sherrabeg and followed road to Glenshero Lodge. Past the fallow deer and along track until out of the forest SW of Meall an t-Sithein. Followed deer fence upwards then through open woodland to the summit and a White-tailed Eagle welcoming our arrival. Back to the deer fence and onwards to Creag Ruadh, which affords superb views down Glen Laggan. Down to the craggy E Top then fence-following through open woodland to Black Craig. A marked FP crosses this and gives good access to the impressive ruins of Dun-da-Iam before dropping the forestry road below that leads back to the vehicular road to Sherrabeg. 4 hrs.summitter04/11/2023

Parked in layby by reservoir shore, walked W along road then L on track by Glenshero Lodge. Followed track till close to Meall an t-Sithein then veered L and up the less severe slopes to reach fine summit of Meall an t-Sithein in mature woodland. Continued to Creag Ruadh (visiting all the options for high point) and camped just below summit. Continued to Creag Ruaidh E top, Black Craig then nice path to the Pictish hill fort of Dun-da-Iamh, visiting both summits. Descended via forestry tracks to the road. Excellent views, good varied route.RobertP10/11/2021

With birthday boy, Nordicstar plus Jenx. Lots of lovely snow on a forest trail.Martin R20/01/2015
Carn Ban from NE, then E along ridge to hill fort, then SW from saddle to regain open ground. However the N slopes have been recently planted so this route may be less feasible in future. NB nice waymarked route from SW clearly easiest route. RHW07/07/2013
