As the Ascent of the Rum Doodle had already been achieved we focussed on an first Assynt ascent; Cnoc a’ Choire Mhoir. The mountain was climbed as part of Mr R J Cassidy’s 60th Birthday celebrations which also took in the summit of Suilven via the “Edie route”. The summit was achieved over very dry peat by a minor diversion from the south west followed by a traverse towards the south east. A 360 summit bag of the summit rock was achieved simultaneously by Mr D C Armin, Dr R A August, Mr R J Cassidy, Mr K G Craig, Dr and Mrs G T Illing. The summit gave fine views of Suilven, Cul Mor and Stac Pollaidh and can be recommend to like-minded individuals. | BaggerGutt | 18/07/2018 |
