Nuttall walk 10.4: From parking near Weardale Ski Club: down road to Swinhope bridge, Ascent to Cockran's Cabin using wall- ChapelFell Top- Fendrith Hill, Dora's seat, over the road to Black Hill and Westernhope Moor. Fine weather, good views but lots of pathless sections.Lazylizzie26/08/2022

With Kay, out and back to Westernhope Moor, going good after dry weather, reasonably clear paths all the way to the top. 5.5k, 1h 20min return. Blooming windy!PDR36522/09/2021
From pt 607 (NY898331). The initially good ATV track only lasts until shortly after pt 645 where it forks; with each only having being subjected to half the tussock flattening power, neither fork is good, vanishing each time tough terrain is met. The N fork has the advantage of an old FP to use when the ATV disappearsIsbjorn26/08/2021
A straightforward, airy walk from Swinhope Head to Black Hill and Westernhope Moor.Nick Down131/05/2021
From Swinhope Head, took in Black Hill then followed fence to summit and Continued on to Outberry Plain then returned back. Weather good, blue sky but windy, visibility good, ground slightly boggy.matty1971b30/05/2021
With Sue and NB from carpark, followed wall then fence to Black Hill, Westernhope Moor, and Outberry Plain not as bad as described some new quad track in some places. Had all seasons with a biting cold wind.Frank04/05/2021
Walked up from road along fence line. Featureless summit but a Currick just down to the left.2510chris15/03/2021
Black Hill, Westernhope Moor, and Outberry Plain from high point on very minor road. A bit of a big trot, particularly on from Westernhope. Not very inspiring! With B and R.jenx22/11/2020
on way to trig pillar from cattle grid at road high pointcjo02/08/2020
Boggy loop to Westernhope Moor Trig, Black Hill Trig (North of ridge at 559m, not recognised on this site) and Fendrith Hill. Spotted by gamekeeper who had seen me watching an owl and thought I was either a bird surveyor or someone destroying traps (which are apparently on surveillance now). He was satisfied after a chat that I was just visiting the trigs.meltdiceburg16/07/2020

From cattle grid at Swinhope Head: Black Hill -> Westernhope Moor -> Outberry Plain. Then retraced steps back to car before attacking hills on other side of the road. Rough ground from Westernhope to Outberry, mainly peat hags, worse on other side of road though.jonglew02/09/2019
From cattle grid on minor road to west. Out and back to Black Hill,Westernhope Moor and Outberry Plain. The walk from Westernhope to Outberry was terrible. In and out and over peat hacs ditches and bogs.mart079708/08/2019
Picked it up on the way to Westernhope MoorGary Heath29/06/2019
with the dog walked from Swinhope Head GR NY 89839 33173 a layby at the cattle grid heading over to Fendrith Hill passing the top of the sky lifts one a good day you can see this quite boggy and lots of peat hags about summit is a fe meters from the OS trig the headding over the hags to get to the summit of Chapelfell top 2 summits hear and unsure which was the true one to can carry on down the ridge and then head for the road i opted to go down the side of the fell as no visibility could soon see the farm and the road thinking that looks tough trust me the road is miles easier than the walk itself back to the parking spot to refill with water and off over to Westernhope moor this is the boggiest part of the walk stick to the fence and walls unlike meDarren-44318/05/2019
Parked at Swinhope Head then bagged Black Hill, Westernhope Moor and a soggy Outberry Plain.Dugswell212/05/2018

Daddry Shield - Chapelfell Top - Fendrith Hill - Westernhope Moor - Swinhopehead House - Daddry Shield. Sunny, with the ground well frozen.davidpettit8408/02/2015
From NY898331 then on to Westernhope Moor and Outberry Plain [and back]. As others have suggested fence corner at 90617, 33478 is NOT the highest point. There is a large area of land 50-100m to the south which is a couple of metres higher. Take your pick - I selected NY90632,33428, but there are other contenders.Crib Goch03/09/2014
Nuttall Route. Chapelfell Top, Fendrith Hill, Black Hill (allow plenty of time if you want to be sure to stand on the top as there are many bumps that are contenders and rough ground between!) Westernhope Moor, Outberry Plain.ijpowell20/06/2014
